NBA League Pass: $20 off NBA League Pass for a Limited Time

NBA League Pass: $20 off NBA League Pass
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

The NBA season is about a month away so there's no better time to jump on a League Pass discount to get you geared up and ready to go. Right now, you can take $20 off a NBA League Pass subscription with the code NBALP202013 which brings the price down to $120 for the year -- not bad considering regular price is around the $140 mark. There's usually a 50% off Boxing Day promotion but that's two months into the season and not many people, at least not hardcore basketball fans, are willing to wait that long.

Just a heads up, those of you purchasing will be unable to watch local televised basketball content through League Pass. That means those who live in Toronto, won't be able to watch Raptors games on League Pass as they'll be on TSN, TSN2, Sportsnet or Sportsnet One. According to the FAQ, the All Star Weekend, Playoffs and NBA Finals coverage will not be available through the service. It's not a huge deal if you have cable but something to keep in mind.

    • Warning to any one who has never purchased this before, Canadians do royally get screwed over... and it's beyond me why they would increase the price this year. The service does not show any games that are being shown on Canadian television... That means you'll likely not see any raptors games, TNT double header games, or high demand games that get televised on a regular basis.

IMO, this is a rip-off, even if it was 100 bucks. I used a software to get around the DNS tracking, but doing this makes me wonder why I didn't just stick to online streams. This is what I'll do this year.

    • Don't know if people care or not but if you are willing to wait a bit I remember last year I bought it around Christmas for $50 with their sale+ coupon. The thread still exists in case you want to see the details. And there are also good links to programs for easy access to watch raptors games plus the national tv games as well. You only miss one month so not biggest problem if you don't mind waiting

Good deal for everyone who is looking to jump in from the beginning though

Edit: didn't notice price went up my bad. Now I might just try and stick with online streams as well. Damn sucks that they raised it so much

You are right but most people use VPN like securitykiss and can get all the games. The one huge benefit of International League pass and I hope the trend continues this year is that you can get all the playoff games by using VPN.

Isn't the video quality of online streams much worse than league pass?

Horrible. That's why I bought it last year. The way I see it, it's still cheaper than paying rogers

I don't know about you, but the online streams I use are around 480p usually... and they're free, so screw this service.

    • wish this would just work as good as normal cable on something like Xbox... not worth the hassle of running vpns, no playoffs, etc if you are a big NBA fan...

    • Iirc this league pass doesn't include play off games. Can someone confirm this? I had to buy playoffs package separately last year.

I ended up signing up as a UK account last year since it is one of the non blackout countries and I would use my VPN service.

The site seems to check your location at the time you start a stream. After the stream starts I would turn off my VPN and the stream would continue at full quality( vs going through the VPN)
