Toronto parking fees are almost as exorbitant as movie theatre popcorn, so download the Green P app for Android or iOS, because you can take $10.00 off purchases of $20.00 or more in the app if you pay using PayPal!

Simply visit the Green P offer page on PayPal and click Save Offer to save it to your PayPal account. The offer will automatically apply during checkout the next time you load or reload your Green P balance with $20.00 or more and pay with PayPal.

The Green P app lets you pay, track or extend parking at Green P parking lots using your smartphone. Currently, only on-street paid parking and all non-gated off-street lots are compatible with the app -- look for the Mobile Pay signage or click here to learn more about using the app.

This offer is available until May 31 and there's a limit of one offer per eligible customer. Offers are limited, so get yours before they're gone!

    • Says you have to load $20 into the app. I can't figure how to manually load it. Only option is to recharge when it gets low. I currently have $13 in my green p account.

My understanding is that the $10 discount will be credit on your Green P account. No word about Green P balance expiring at the end of the month.

    • Got an email this morning from Paypal with this offer, looks like it's another one of the targeted ones, but no harm checking on your account!

I've been using the Green P parking app recently (not sure if that was why I even got this). I find it pretty good for paying for parking in downtown Toronto, most street parking under Green P has the code that you can just enter on the app and pay there. Also gives you a handy countdown timer (as well as an alert when it's about the run out), and you can top it off wherever you are instead of running back to the meter.

For those who already use this app now, it seems like the payment account can only be reloaded when funds drop to $0. There doesn't seem to be a way to add $20 to the account when it's not yet depleted.

My understanding is you can only load funds (even in excess of what you're about to pay) when you go register for a parking time/spot. You could try paying for 5 minutes of parking at a random lot and then just top up your account.

    • Ideally this app should allow you to pay as you need.

But, I suspect it has to do with Visa fees charged to Green P for every transaction...so they want to pocket your $20 instead small $1 purchases.

    • the way OP words it it means PayPal only charges me 10 when I load 20... not pay 20 get 30. could someone please clarify?

    • nope... just tried, didn't work... it only gives me option for my current balance, no option for additional funding.

I'm understanding it as PayPal charges you $10 when loading $20.
I already had the app beforehand and still trying to figure out how to manually load funds after the initial $20 when signing up. So perhaps someone who can use this and who just downloaded the app can confirm.

Update: after checking the FAQ, it seems like if you had the app already, you need the account balance to fall to $0 before it will auto-replenish or you get a chance to add funds to the account.

    • so i load $20
i get $10 free which i need to use within may?
will the app be smart to deduct this promo funds first?
and i'm assuming this can be broken into small chunks for say $3 per payment? and if any left it expires?
      can i load $20x2 so i get 2 free $10 ?
if this $10 did expire deal would be hot... free parking?
however i like rover too, hard to find spots but good prices if u do

also i did not "receive the Offer from PayPal Canada by email"
and have no idea where i can "make a purchase at a participating merchant location"

    • I noticed the same thing, I already have funds in my GreenP account and now have to wait for the balance to fall below $0- to reload and get the discount - which probably won't happen as I'm not in the city too much.

Doesn't seem like you can after I checked the app FAQ. Even for manual reload, it seems like it needs to wait until the balance reaches $0 to have a reload option. Let us know if you find a way...

      FAQ answer:
When your account balance reaches $0, your account will be automatically replenished by your card or PayPal account on file with at least $20 or higher selected increments. If you have not opted to have payment card information stored in the system, or have not configured your Green P Account for auto-reload or your reload is not authorized, you will be notified that you need to add funds to your account at the time you try to initiate a new parking transaction. The App will then take you through the process of adding funds to your account.
