    • Can this be used with Liquidation Store Closing sales (50-70%) off in selected Hamilton stores?

    • Nevermind above...they are considered "liquidation stores" now

    • I wouldn't suggest the smartphone.

I had a full page print out and the cashier read all of the fine print and then called over the supervisor who read all of the fine print. Only after all this did they decide it was acceptable.

Since the fine print isn't (easily) readable on a smartphone, I wouldn't be surprised if it would be a huge hassle to get them to accept it.

    • Aside from phones, are people finding good deals at the liquidation stores? I went a few times over the past ~3 months to one of my local Zellers, and the deals were awful. Even at 50% off, stuff was still imo overpriced. Looked for some curtains when it was 20-30% off, and there was barely anything to choose from. Either there were good deals and the good stuff was gone, or that was all the stock they ever had. Consumables were only marked down by 10%, so there were pallets of stuff like paper towels at 2x what you'd pay at Walmart or Costco or whatever. Store looked a little barer when it was 80% off (and tidier than I'd ever seen it in the 11 years it existed), but that's what I felt like things were worth in the first place. I assume competitively priced stuff went very quickly.

I can't understand it, all they have is overpriced ***** and five year old sports titles at my local Zellers, and in fact they haven't been getting new games/systems for at least five months now, but they still won't let Electronics be part of any deals.

It's still at Hillcrest. There were some "clearance sale" signs posted up but I didn't have a chance to look inside to see if their sales were even worth it.

Life isn't always about electronics. Frankly, I wouldn't buy electronics at Zellers as they basically carry only crap.

However, there were some pretty good deals to be had on sheets and towels this past weekend. Two queen sets of 400 TPI sheets for $30 with their BOGO promotion and this coupon is better than you'll find anywhere else.

    • Just visited the Zellers at East Gate Mall/bloor, Missisauga. Not much really, curtains are 70% off and furniture 50% off, but still, didn't see anything I liked or felt was a particularly good deal. The prices are just so inflated

      Couple mentions tho:

If your dog is into Purina Beneful dog food, the Zellers on bloor is selling them for $11 per 8kg bag. More than half off where I usually get them (No frills) for $24.

Their 8pc comforter sets are also around $39.99 which is warm...

    • can we use spc also?
Doubt it, the Woodbine Mall location had a notice stating that "they are no longer accepting SPC discounts"

    • can we use spc also?
Yeah, Zellers is no longer participating in SPC. They are not on the 2012/2013 Retail list. July 31st, 2012 was the last day SPC card was able to be used at Zellers

Zellers was the only reason why I continued to get the SPC Card. Its no longer worth it for myself.

    • I just had a Zellers location close in june in my area a few months ago. Montreal, Qc. It is turning into a walmart as Target did not want this store. Anyway, at the beginning jsut like you, the deals were garbage and like you said, they overpriced it all. However, have some faith as around 2-3 weeks before the store closing date is when the sales will really begin. That is how they did it in my area anyway. But from your post, seems like all zellers will follow the same trend. The Electronics will go to a max of 50% off probably 2 weeks before closing day until the last week and then go up to 60% for the last few days.
