Staples: Buy One Get One Free on Custom Calendars

If you're looking for gift ideas, a customized calendar can be a creative and useful gift for someone in your life. Right now, Staples has buy one, get one one free promotion on custom calendars (promotion #2). Custom "classic" calendars with clear coil binding and printed on 100lbs stock are $9.99 each, and the more economic "express" calendars which are stapled and slightly smaller are $8.99 each. Both types qualify for the Buy 1 Get 1 free promotion, so that's $5 per custom "classic" calendar and $4.50 for an "express" calendar.

This offer is good until November 28, 2008 -- just enough time to take care of a few people on your list.

- Yeah, you can either order @ the eKiosk at the staples print/copy centre or online. If you bring actually hardcopy for the photographs you want to use, it will cost extra to scan them and send it to the hub. I forgot the prices how much it cost to scan an x amount of photographs.
  
  I work in the staples copy/print department. It's a really busy department, especially one person in there who only had 3 training session. Luckily, I have some knowledge of printing and stuff since im a graphic design student.

- No longer 50% off for one, but buy one get one free, so same price if you need 2 ( ( i thing the 2nd has to be the exact same one as the first) no big deal though for me. Ordering two of the express ones for the grandparents for christmas.

- Last time I tried using them, I uploaded the photos one by one as I was going through each month. It took forever and kept crashing. I finally made it to the end and then it crashed big time and wiped out all my work!

  It is true, you should upload them to your gallery first ( still takes a long time - but less than doing it individually). Also, there is a button where you can save your work part way through, I used that.
  
  I didn't realize till after that you can use different template for each month/pic, ( i did the cheap one - the express calendar for $4.98)
  
  FYI -- for express you need -13 pics

  The main reason i bought express is that i didn't have time to look up 26- 52 pics to put in. ( by the way it took about 45min, not the 15 min - all said and done, that the website says it would take)

  wish i'd seen this post before i ordered some from VistaPrint. i think it was only $10 apiece, but the pisser is the wait time.
  
  they say 21 days for the cheap delivery option, although i just got some rubber stamps from them and i think it might have been 12 days.
  granted, i think they're shipping from the Netherlands or somewhere, but i also think they give a long delivery time on the cheap, so you'll pick the expensive delivery option.

- we just picked it up - i am waiting for fiance to get home to see it. the price was weird though - she said she paid 16.xx for classic. there are two, but on checkout i thought it said about 11.xx. oh well. she said they looked cute - so not sure on quality yet
