Rona Scratch & Save Event: 10-100% Off Your In-Store Purchase (This Saturday Only)

Rona Scratch & Save Event: 10-100% Off
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

If you're doing renovations around the house or office and you need to stock up on tools and supplies, this weekend is a good time to visit Rona. On Saturday (May 12), you can save 10-100% on your in-store purchase during their Scratch & Save Event! After your purchase has been processed at the checkout counter, your cashier will scratch the card and apply the appropriate discount to your transaction. There's a limit of one scratch card per transaction per person or family. The promotion is available at participating Rona locations and on May 12 only (while quantities last).

The discount does not apply to out-of-stock items, taxes, Steal-Of-A-Deal offers in the flyer, category rebates, gift cards, special orders, Rona price guarantee policy, layaways, in-house or contract accounts. In-store services like rental, installation, delivery, and cut-shop are also excluded from this offer. More details can be found on page 7 in the flyer which can be accessed if you head over to our flyertown.

    • Arg! I've been waiting for a specific horizontal shed/deck box thing to go on sale for weeks, and I finally broke down last weekend and just bought it.
NOW they do the universal sale. Too bad it's already assembled -- otherwise I'd take it back and re-buy with the 10-100% off... Maybe I'll beg for a price adjust. I was going to go grab some gardening supplies anyway.

I guess worst case scenario, I could buy a 2nd one with the %off and return it using the 1st receipt.

Well, since they hand out the cards at the checkout counter - good luck with that!
Maybe you could find a nice cashier that wold give you one before you buy and you could use a flashliight to try to see through while hiding in one of the aisles ...

    • Do they still have the 10% your first purchase when you sign up for their credit card as well? And if so, could it be stacked?

I'm looking at purchasing deck materials as inexpensive as possible

I purchased $800 worth of patio stone couple years back and got the 100% card. Now I am hooked lol
I think they may have a max value of $1000 though.

      Don't beg.

Buy the shed, then return it with the old receipt.

im in the market for a shed...just curious what model did you end up getting?

I'm looking for something affordable but decently priced. Also, hows the process of putting it together?

I have done this in the past and I didn't even have a card I showed them. I went to customer service before I bought anything and showed them the Rona ad. I really had no intent on going to Rona anyway since the same items I wanted were cheaper at HD to begin with. When I showed them the ad I just asked them for the minimum duscount( 10%) since I was guaranteed to get at least that with a Rona scratch card.

I picked up the 20 cu ft Suncast horizontal shed for $180. It was a snap to put together (5 min with my boyfriend, but it could likely be done alone as well), is surprisingly light, and holds quite a bit. The plastic is quite rigid and seems sturdy enough, so I'm not concerned about durability. Though wood would have been nice, I'll be storing some garbage/compost bags in this, so the plastic will be easy to hose out if anything leaks or spills.

Unfortunately large deck boxes were way too long for the space, and vertical sheds would block the window, so I had to go with this style of "horizontal shed", though it's hardly a true shed in my mind. More like a storage bin/locker/box.

I looked at the HD and CT versions, and the colour, quality, and most importantly, dimensions (54 in. x 34 in. x 26 in) of this were the best fit. If, however, I can save 10-100%, all the better!

      Cheers!

Hmm then you must be lucky. I asked the manager at country hills location in Calgary iF they will match it and he said no. Anyone know other location in Calgary that will do?

Home Depot that I went to will match the scratch and save percentage exactly if I produce a scratch card to them e.g. if I get 100% off card then Home Depot will give me 100% off any items in the store. Problem is Rona would not give me the card back to take to Home Depot when I got 50% off previously.

The Rona in my area has a very extensive wood shop and has a lot more capability that either HD or Lowes. I believe that for panels they have a free cutting service, but best to call and check ahead of time.

Does this mean there's 1000 per store? Or they just used 1000 in this example to demonstrate the odds and the number per store is different?

They are using "distribution" as in statistical distribution. Rona will have more than 1000 per store.
Thanks. I wonder if there's a statistical formula that figures out your best odds of getting each level of discount. For example, if I was to go first thing the morning, would I have a better chance because the higher scratch cards may not have been used. Or, if I wait longer more people will use up the 10% scratch cards and make the chances of getting a better discount greater...

No, you could look at the data of all the tickets across the country and it should be pretty even based on customer volume. There can be random spikes here and there, but that should all even out. Like the lotto, you pick one and hope for the best. It's all random.

I kind of understand they won't let you take home if it is a good one because then you can pass it around, but i was wondering if they will let you take the 10% card, i need to buy lots of stuff at HD this weekend because Rona does not have it. Even 10% i am happy
