Lowe's Lowe's: Save The Tax In-Stores and Online Through August 23! Save The Tax In-Stores & Online Through August 23
get this dealStarting today through this weekend only, Lowe's is having a Save The Tax event in-stores and online!
For in-store shoppers, the equivalent of your province's tax will be discounted automatically at checkout. Here are the in-store savings you'll receive:
- Ontario - 13% off
- British Columbia - 12% off
- Saskatchewan - 10% off
- Alberta - 10% off
If you shop online, you'll instead receive 11.5% off your online order with promo code SAVETHETAX. Since this is a larger savings than the provincial tax discount for Saskatchewan and Alberta, those of you residing there may want to shop online instead.
For even more savings, get a $25 Lowe's savings card when you spend over $150 in-store or shop online and get an additional $25 off when you spend more than $175 using promo code SAVE25 at checkout!
This event is live now and is through valid through August 23. Exclusions include clearance items, gift cards and all services.

View allYou can do seperate transactions and get multiple cards. Even you get maximum 3 than its still worth the hassle.
When I go back between aug 24-Sep 2 I will stack all of my gift cards. Apparently you can stack them all when using them. I checked with online chat, the emailed me the transcript too so I have proof.
If it's on sale at Lowe's, I want you to match AND beat it, of course it's a limited time, it's a 'sale'.
If they only match it, I'd rather buy from Lowe's, since it's atleast their promo.
Definitely a fan of HD. However, HD I've had problems with them BEATING the competitor price, they usually only match if it's on one of those "flyer" sales because its "limited" time.
Tax on $173 is $22.49.
173-22.49 = 150.51
You only get the promo card if the subtotal is over 150. So 173 seems to be the magic number (No smart ass comments on the exact 172.XX dollar amount, I don't care to do the math to that precision)
I made the mistake of picking up 150.99 pre tax and then they deducted the equivalent of the tax off to bring the subtotal down to 131.XX, so I didnt get the card.
I just went to returns desk and told them, picked up a couple more things to get the promo card as well.

Plus the store had signs plastered everywhere about it.
I think you can only get 1 promo card per transaction, even if u spend 300, 450, etc...
Card specifically says "Limit 1 Card issued per customer per day"
The promo card specifically says for use from Aug 24 - Sept 2
Also can you buy something in multiples of $ 150 to get the $ 25 each time ..like separate receipt for each $ 150.
So if you are like me and grab 150$ of stuff (pre-tax), they will take the tax equivalent off the subtotal, bringing it below the 150$ for the 25$ savings card. So make sure you do the math to get both (only in store of as OP mentioned)
BTW: the savings card is just good from Aug 24- Sept 2
