Lowe's Lowe's Save the Tax Event: Pay No Tax on Your Purchase Pay No Tax on Your Purchase!

get this deal
this offer is expired

Tax evasion is completely fine at Lowe's this week, because they're holding a No Tax Event and you don't have to pay any tax on your purchase! You can view their current flyer here on RedFlagDeals for shopping inspiration.

The savings will vary depending on how you shop:

  • Online -- Take 11.5% off your purchase with the promo code SALE
  • In-store -- Savings will vary depending on the tax percentage in your province (Alberta 15%; British Columbia 12%; Ontario 13%; Saskatchewan 11%)

In-store savings are greater for most provinces (sorry, Saskatchewan), so it may be more beneficial to shop in-store instead of online, especially for larger purchases.

There are some restrictions, as the offer excludes gift cards and all services. Applicable taxes will be added to your order total before they are deducted.

This offer is effective online and in Lowe's stores until May 24 -- click here to find the location nearest you.

Plus, some forum members in our Hot Deals forum have had past success with price-matching the savings at Home Depot stores, but your mileage may vary depending on location.

No it's not considered a major appliance.

You can always get a sneak peek of Lowe's and a few other flyers every Wednesday at 12:01AM ET on the Reebee app or website (https://www.reebee.com/flyers).

Just input your postal code to get the local flyers in your province and select the "Upcoming" tab at the top to see upcoming flyers. :)

Previous threads have given differing outcomes - some have said their HD have been able to PM no problem and others have said reps have been sticky on the products needing to be sold at HD for PM must be identical and in stock at Lowe's. I would say YMMV.

If anyone is successful at PM'ing at their local HD, please post in this thread starting tomorrow and I'll update the OP and title to include "PM HD Possibility - YMMV".

    • Would this end up better than the midnight madness sale?
I don't remember having free delivery on that one.

    • If buying in-store, don't forget to mention it to the cashier. Last time, they tried to charge me tax and they only removed it once I said it.

Lowes website says free shipping on full size grills but also says cannot be combined with other promos. If you're after a full-size wait till tomorrow, add one to the cart and see. I'm after a weber kettle which should ship free w/parcel shipping

I have never being rejected @ HD to price match against Lowe's tax free day. They were done in Scarborough, Richmond Hill, Markham, and Vaughan stores.

I think you mean your bill did not receive the discount? not to confuse others; they still charge tax, they just give 11.5% (ON) discount before charging 13% ON HST.

Yes, that's what I meant. Sorry for any confusion. If I hadn't said anything, the cashier wouldn't have applied that discount.

Thanks for the confidence pill. I'll try that in Richmond Hill home depot this weekend.

Do you have experience having HD price BEAT with another 10% off, or just matching it?
My local HD usually resists to do that.

They will only match and beat it if you are buying the exact same item. If you are just matching the promo they only match is my experience.

    • Last month during the last Save the Tax event at Lowe's, I got HD to price match a Weber Genesis II S-340 LP BBQ and beat it by 10%. Had to show the Lowe's website price on my phone and prove it was in stock and argue with the manager 20 minutes before closing time. I'm glad I went the first day because the Queensborough Lowe's was OOS the next morning. This was at the Bridgeport HD location in Richmond. He didn't want to do it saying anytime they price match or put Weber's on sale, they have to report it to their regional manager and can lose their license to sell them etc. So I had to push him on false advertising practices and nothing about HD price match guarantee showing anything about excluding Webers or any other particular brands. So YMMV. Good luck.

I think this is a very fair policy.
