Where are you getting your Christmas tree this year? Maybe this will help you decide -- when you buy a tree for $20 at IKEA, they'll give you a $20 IKEA coupon.

Once again, IKEA have teamed up with Tree Canada to sell Balsam Firs for $20 each this holiday season. When you purchase a tree, you'll get a coupon for $20 off your next IKEA purchase of $75 or more. The coupon can be redeemed from January 2-February 28, 2013.

Balsam Fir live trees are available in store, while quantities last. You can visit IKEA.com before you head out to check the stock status of live trees at your local IKEA store.

- These are actually nice trees! A bit hard to pick, though, as they are all tied up rather than "released" like the expensive tree vendors. Free if you were going to spend $75 at Ikea in January or February anyway... and even if you toss the coupon, a $20 nice tree is a good deal. (We've gotten these three or four times now, and not been disappointed.)

  This will be our third year, always been pleased with the trees. They're not too big either.

  Thanks...was looking for the link online when I posted and couldn't find it, updated the OP. Note that the stock info message "out of trees for this season" for the other locations is inaccurate as the promo only starts on the 23rd.

  Be sure to account for the height of the stand. A couple of times I've had to take off 6" from the trunk at the bottom so I could fit the angel on top.

- Just so everyone knows Home Depot is having a similar deal except you get 25$ off 100$ purchase in January but they have a lot more selection of trees. They have different sizes, 6 feet ones start at 20$ and we got an 8" foot one for 30$ and they even cut the bottom of the Tree off at the store. They had a few more heights. The tree is very nice, much more full than the Ikea one I got last year.
