    • Anybody have comments on that Ryobi One+ Lithium 18V Impact Driver for $69.99?
In early 2010 I used a Dewalt 18v impact driver and this Ryobi 18V impact driver to help build a house for a friend. Both were awesome and using them both for half a week i found i had no preference on which one i used. I'm sure for long term durability the Dewalt has advantages but for the price the Ryobi One+ set of tools are very good.

I just noticed that the $69 driver in the flyer is not the Lithium ion battery. it's the normal ni-cad one. That's waht i used in 2010. At least if you do get your hands on a Ryobi lithium battery it will work in the driver. All One+ items are cross compatable between the nicad and lion batteries. It's what i'm doing now.

Although.... instead get the other deal this week. It's the same driver, a drill, 2 batteries and charger for $99. Sell the drill, batteries and charger from that set and buy a Ryobi Lithium ion batter and charger. That combo would be better.

    • I checked the Home Depot website and it states this sale is on from April 12 to 18. I'm not sure where the "Starts Thursday, April 19, 2012" came from.
I just checked the site, and right on the front page it shows what the OP posted...Apr 19. You woulda thought someone would've noticed that by now and fixed it, kinda funny. Thanks OP, gonna pick a couple of bags up. Anyone know how much it covers?

From the photo in the page, it covers 404 sq. m.

Thanks. It seems the description was kind of misleading since it kept on mentioning lithium...

Ryobi’s new One+™ Lithium-ion battery produces maximum performance for a much lower price than the competition. It powers every Ryobi® 18V tool, making Ryobi® One+™ the most affordable and versatile 18V lithium-ion tool system in the world.

It's listed as $9.97 in stores as well and it rings at that same price at the till, just got back from HD North Hill @ Calgary, so no need to price match or anything like that...

    • The description is wrong. Here's the lithium ion version

      http://www.homedepot.ca/product/ryob...ver-kit/918471

No way they're putting the lion version on for $69.

The yellow batteries are nicad. the grey/green batteries are lion. As i said before, the actual driver itself is exactly the same except for slight external styling differences. Both drivers will work with either type of battery.
I actually got a great deal last fall. I picked up the yellow Ryobi drill with 2 lithium batteries for $79. It's a great drill and I love it. You need a spare lithium battery because when it's drained, it just dies, no warning.
It's similar to this one, but without the autoshift. http://www.homedepot.ca/product/18v-...t-drill/986175

    • Just got my first home and I'm looking to pick up some Scotts turf builder as there as some patchy areas in the lawn, and one bare spot in the backyard.

Can someone please give me some advice as to when its best to apply this to my lawn? I've never used the stuff before, so any help would be appreciated.

Apply now, then again in late May then late August and again early October.

Is this an all purpose fertilizer? Kind of new to this, but planned on doing my lawn this weekend. Have some dead spots, dry spots, and general spots that need some regeneration. Have a good mix of sun and shade. Would applying grass seed at the same time be beneficial?

Scotts Turf Builder 30-0-3 (on sale this week) is a fertilizer designed for established lawns (despite what the name "builder" suggests). The middle 0 (zero) in 30-0-3 means that it has zero phosphorus; phosphorus is only needed for early root growth and for promoting early plant vigor, at the time of seeding and over the following couple of weeks.

In those bald areas where you apply grass seed over bare earth, a 30-20-3 fertilizer would be more suitable (20% phosphorus for root development). On a lawn that is already established, do not use a 30-20-3 fertilizer (or use very sparringly, and only when overseeding); you will only help weeds to grow strong roots. Overuse or needless use of phosphorus containing fertilizer leads to ugly algae blooms in streams and lakes downstream, especially when such fertilizer is spread on the lawn rather that mixed within the soil. Many governments banned the use of phosphorus containing fertilizer for established turf.

I have Scotts fertilizer with the good stuff, will that negate weeds growth problem?

If you're talking about the Turf Builder with Plus 2 Weed Control (28-1-4) from the US, it kills dandelions, etc. Hold off applying until days are regularly above 60 degrees.

You might want to check this thread out for some great ideas: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/anyon...advice-559106/

You'll need some topsoil and seed to fill in the bare spots, but still a little too early for grass seed. Once the grass is established, then I would use the stuff that's on sale now at HD. Then overseed in September, then apply the above fertilizer before the snow comes.
