- Great discounts from the retail prices. But I have to wonder if HD actually is selling this merchandise at a loss, or whether these clearance numbers don't demonstrate how badly consumers are getting ripped off by retailers?

  Have you noticed how many staff there was when you were there last time?
  Did you noticed how well the lights lid up the place, powered by hydro?
  Can you estimate the commercial, higher than what you (your parents most likely) pay, property taxes.
  Did you see the big huge parking lot that makes no money at all, property taxes again.
  
  I just can't belief on the cost of some of the things they sell and still make money.

- Just came back from Aurora HD. The Balsam fir that you see in the picture is NOT the same. The actual ones look like some diseased sparsely limbed tree. Picked up other stuff though like Santa hats and stockings etc etc for $2.99 reg $6.99. Pretty well all the Christmas stuff is close to 75% off except some of the Martha Stewart stuff. Again YMMW. Best, go to your nearest HD store and check for yourself.

- Picked up the last one of the Maestro Mouse from the Richmond Hill at High Tech. Works great. Can't beat the price of $12.34 vs $50.

- I saw few of the Maestro mouse at Dufferin HD last night. They scanned at $12.34, but the nice guy at the cash dropped another %50 when I asked him about the extra %50 all xmas items. So I got it for $6.17. Now that is the deal. It seemed this was the best toy my kid has ever received as he didn't want to sleep last night. Middle of the night he runs downstairs and yells: "Hello Mr. Christmas" and asks him to play a Carrol. I had to unplug Mr. Maestro

  Heh. I'm 25 and I am having fun with this neat piece of gadget . I noticed that its kind of sensitive. I.e if you don't speak properly or if there's background noise, it does the opposite thing. Some bugs but for the price you can't beat it.

  I agree with the sensitivity, but he doesn't care as he (my son) keeps yelling "Hello Mr. Christmas". I am thinking of going back and picking up another one.
