    • Not sure when Ikea first started this but I'm going to guess it's fairly new as I don't see it on their main website. No loyalty points or anything like that, though the monthly product discounts make this most interesting for me. Example: This month the Hemnes 6-drawer chest is $199.00 for members, $249.00 regular.

      Free sign-up on the website - http://family.ikea.ca/

      Monthly product discounts
      Additional discounts in our restaurant*
A chance to win a $100 IKEA Gift Card** every time you scan your card in the store (1 winner/month for each participating IKEA store)
Free tea or coffee every time you visit our restaurant*
      90-day return policy

*Valid at participating locations. See store for details.

The free coffee/tea is only in the restaurant not at the bistro.

I picked one up last week at the Ikea Etobicoke store.

Someone needs to fix the audio!

By the way, the Etobicoke location is the only one where you can sign up this family card for now. I have tried all other locations and got the same response:

We're sorry, IKEA FAMILY is not yet available at IKEA XXXXX. Want a heads-up when your store has IKEA FAMILY?

If you want to be notified you can join their list and they will let you know once your location becomes a participant.

    • Wonder if 1 card entitles you free coffee for all members in the "family" or need 1 per person...

    • Dang no Ikea Vaughan yet

    • Neat! I'll wait for the North York location to join.

BTW, food at the restaurant sucks... I'm as cheap as any other RFD'er, but I couldn't stand the coffee - had to throw it out and grab one at McD's on the way out...

I think it's decent if one just needs something to fill their belly. My family goes usually just because we want a coffee break and it's nearby. Either order the special or the kids' meatball meal (with comes with drink). Then, after, we browse a bit. So, free coffee would probably pull us into the store, rather than us just going to McD's. Smart of them.

Largest Ikea in Canada... no Family Card.

Not sure when this Ikea will ever get paid off enough to offer decent deals. Probably more that there is nothing else in Ottawa, so no good deals for you! Next!
