It's Day 3 of the 12 Holiday Deals promo at Costco.ca, today they are featuring the Rival Professional Slicer for $56.99.

This 130 watt slicer is available at this price while quantities last, shipping and handling included. Features include mulit-purpose stainless steel serrated blade, retractable stainless steel food tray, tilt base for commercial style slicing, adjustable thickness control and more. The same model currently sells for $89.99 at Amazon.ca (regularly $99.99) and $99.97 at Walmart.ca ($78 in store).

And if you missed the first two deals in this promo, they are still available (while quantities last). Yesterday was the Reebok Challenger 150 Treadmill for $599.99 through December 17 (regularly $849.99) and Monday's deal was $30 off Able Planet On The Ear Wireless Headphones for $39.99, regularly $69.99.

- I prefer bluetooth wireless headphones...no static, great range, price is about the same.
  
  You'll need a bluetooth audio transmitter (~20.00 on eBay), and a bluetooth stereo headset (25+).
  Bluetooth doesn't work well for video viewing due to buffering. i always end up losing audio sync.
  
  Too bad this set is ir. My cheapo 900MHz wireless just died and in the market for another pair.

  I have done a lot of homework on that one and decided it was not worth even $50. Most complaints about the very loud popping sounds. One of the reviewers took it apart and managed to stop the popping. If you're into taking things apart then you may have better luck. As for me, I will continue to look for a better set.

  Reading the reviews it seems that users love it or hate it...and any that reference utility costs seem to say it increases the hydro bills.

I've been waiting for a better price so made the plunge, as I have a larger space (800 sq feet) in my basement that just needs a little bit of extra help keeping warm in the winter. Note that these are currently selling in local Costco stores for only $10 more... $149. So $40 off is a bit deceiving...

  The online stuff is always more expensive though because they factor in shipping, but yes you are right, if you have access to a B&M store than its not a huge savings. I researched the hell out of these quartz heaters a couple years ago and the general consensus I determined from a ton of reviews was that it was all a huge marketing gimmick and that they really did little more than an ordinary space heater that cost a fraction of what these were selling for. As mentioned above, the people that loved them really did love them, but the info I recall gleaning at the time was that they were generally older people that were just happy they were a bit warmer than they were before. These are widely distributed in the US via infomercials so the clientÃÂ¨le for the most part consists of blue haired old ladies who buy one for themselves and one for the grandkids college dorm room where is ends up being used as a table to roll dubes on.
