McDonald's New Snack Sized Iced Frappés for $1 June 5-12

McDonald's New Snack Sized Iced Frappés for $1
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

In addition to their summer long dollar drink days, McDonald's is rolling out a new promotion for a limited time. Starting June 5 and running till June 12, you can enjoy their new snack sized McCafé Coffee and Vanilla Chai Tea Iced Frappés for just a $1. The deal is only on for a week and, for a dollar, won't stray too far from your allotted daily coffee budget. If you're interested, you'll want to mark the days down in your calendar to avoid missing out.

There really isn't much more to it but you can check out the splash page here to read the synopsis for yourself.

To find the McDonald's nearest you, check out the restaurant locator here.

    • Too me, I love it. Vanilla tastes like the real vanilla bean. I buy two every week for my girlfriend and I.

How small is the snack size?

Would like to know the same...anything like Starbucks?

    • How small is the snack size?
Pretty small. 8 ounces. Two of these would make a medium.

    • Can you order a larger size and just pay the difference like with coffee during promos?

Not like Starbucks. Its a little different in taste. IMO I can't say its better than Starbucks, but I would say, its not worse than it either. However, its better than Iced Cap from tim hortons for couple of reasons the first being its fresh and healthier than tim hortons sugar based syrup. McDonalds Iced Frappes are part of the McCafe product line, meaning they are milk based.

      Thanks,

Which one would you recommend, the Vanilla Chai Tea or the regular Coffee Iced Fraps?

Coffee! But for $1, try both

    • For $1 its worth trying and in my opinion the Coffee flavor is better and healthier than Iced Cap from Tim Hortons.
For those who care, these are mediums

Coffee flavour 370 calories, 5g fat, 64g sugar
Vanilla flavour 510 calories, 21g fat, 71g sugar

      way too much sugar!

For those wondering, the actual numbers are:
Snack Sized Vanilla: 260cal, 11g (7 saturated) fat, 37g carbs (of which 37g is sugar), 4g protein
Snack Sized Coffee: 210cal, 2.5g (2 saturated) fat, 42g carbs (of which 37g is sugar)

      The vanilla tastes quite nice.

    • These are wayyy better than Iced Capps from Tim's. I'd liked the Vanilla Chai Frappe to a Vanilla Bean Frap + a hint of cinnamon from Starbucks. I personally prefer the Vanilla but I find it to be sweet and I'm kind of regretting drinking so much of it in the last few days given that a medium is 510 calories...

    • theyre good. it tastes like an ice cap but with more coffee flavour and a little less sweet. they also don't start to separate like ice caps do.

It's pretty much the same for all coffee blended drinks at Starbucks, Second Cup, Timothy's, Tim Horton's and McDonald's. It's approximately quarter container cup of syrup + ice. Tastes great though.

Starbucks light grande frappacinos I believe are around 200 calories.

    • Tried the vanilla chai yesterday. Way too sweet IMHO and I usually like sweet drinks.

They have the mocha frappe in the states which is delicious. Too bad that flavour's not available here.

you could ask them to add chocolate flavour shot and that will "mocha" it up i guess. that is probably what they do in the states anyways

Didn't expect a Sr. Member to misread.

It says snack size. That is smaller than the small size. As far as calories go, I said healthier than Tim's iced caps. Once you have it you will figure it out why its better to have this than tim's ice cap. If you don't drink tim's iced caps, then nothing is healthier than that situation.

The ones in the States are awesome, haven't tried them in Canada yet...well I tried the one that's like a frappe before but it wan't as good as the US. These ones seem "new" so hopefully they're a similar formulation to the US ones.

    • Tried the Chai flavour. OMG, so sweet. It's like a dessert has been blended in there.
The snack size should be more than enough calories for anyone!

    • I agree that they are have too much sugar and indeed a bit too sweet. It will still be good if they reduce the sugar. Indeed I think they can have better sell if there is an option for less sugar or "diet" version without sugar.
  • AVATAR
    • Netcruzer
    • Well can the sugar level be reduced when they make it, or is this a new 1 step machine? For example, when I order their Iced Coffees, I always say Light cream and light sugar. That means only 1 pump of liquid sugar, and 1 shot of cream. Much better tasting and healthier than normal.

    • Tried the coffee blend at the main and terminal Mcdonalds in Vancouver and it was pretty good. When I had it a second time at the main street Mcdonalds, the texture was really off. Maybe they didn't blend the ice well enough.

Prefer ice capps at timmies better.
