Royal Ontario Museum New Admission Prices: Tickets Start at $12 Every Day, $6 and Up on Friday Evenings

ROM: 2011 Admission Price Update
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

The Royal Ontario Musem in Toronto recently made some changes to admission prices, and with that, they did away with the free Wednesday program they've been running over the past few years. The good news, however, is that admission prices have dropped overall by an average of 30%. Although Friday evenings are no longer half-price, admission is still discounted after 4:30PM and admission overall just became a lot more affordable!

General admission tickets for adults are now $15 (previously $24), $13.50 for seniors and students (previously $21) and $12 for children (previously $16). On Fridays, admission is discounted by $2-$3 for each ticket bracket. For a full list of prices, click here.

The Royal Ontario Museum is at 100 Queen's Park in Toronto.

    • Friday evening admission is also drop to $9, but free Wednesday is gone.

Which is probably not a big deal anyways, because last time I went there on Wednesday there were like, 300 people lining up...

you can still get free family ROM passes (and others) with your Toronto Public Library card. the lineups for MAP passes are much shorter now that you have to show your library card and ID at the venue for pass redemption - means people can't resell them anymore, good!

Andrec2g: MAP passes are usually good for up to 4 people. But of course you can use it on your own if you like. Remember though you may get one of each venue's pass once every three months (subject to availability)

    • Cool.

If you enjoy a nice meal at C5 you can just ditch the pin and walk through the ROM after for free.

    • I am surprised they didn't get a big corporate sponsor to sponsor a "free night" ... Most major museums in the world still have a "free" night at least once a month.

Regardless, good to see better pricing.. I usually only go for special exhibits so will be interesting to see how this discounted "base" price effects special exhibit prices.

Definitely, but why would you? Post it here so that a single parent with 1 or 2 kids can share the joy with you. Once inside you can go your own way.

There is a big exhibit on the Maya opening up next week. Admission prices are $25 (down from $31) or $19 on Friday evenings.

I wish our museums got more funding. All the major museums in London are free, which is incredible and greatly encourages people to visit often.

    • That's an improvement, I can't believe how high their admission is.

In contrast the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau, which is far bigger and has more to see only charges $12. I remember I got a ticket for like $8 with a package.
