TheSource.ca: LittleBigPlanet 2 Special Edition $19.99 (Reg. $49.99) (In-Store Only)

TheSource.ca: LittleBigPlanet 2 Special Ed $19.99
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

Here's a pretty hot video game deal courtesy of TheSource.ca. Right now, they've put LittleBigPlanet 2 Special Edition on sale for $19.99. The average cost for this uniquely designed platformer is about $50 so you'll want to pick this up now before stock runs out.

For those of you unfamiliar with the game, LittleBigPlanet 2 is basically Mario for the PlayStation 3. You'll run, jump, swing, collect stickers and make your way through dozens of uniquely produced levels. The main draw here, though, is in the downloadable content ($35 worth included) and the community created levels which you can download for free as well. The game, seemingly, as infinite replay value as you can always find new user made levels to explore and have fun with.

The deal is live now but is only available in-store. Quantities are limited.

Most people do replay their games eventually. I would never buy games if I didn't. Might as well just rent them if you're gonna do that. So thanks for the advice.

Thanks OP. I'll PM with FS or BB.. get it for 16.50

well ccyk is kinda right in this situation as if you bought PSN Plus for about $30 on ebay, you would've gotten LBP2, infamous 2, gotham city imposters, and dozens of other games (+ more to come during the year) and in that year, you'll have more than enough time to replay the game. I merely got the plus for some discounts that I may be interested in, so the free games are a huge bonus for me, plus I only tend to replay certain games (and that's usually over a year later) but I can never seem to do so with the amount of games that keep coming out lol.

But yeah, if you can't see yourself playing a game for over a year, plus is better, but you can also argue that on your last month of plus, a really good game becomes free. Well you don't have a year to play it, but only the month (since your plus will expire). Of course with games you've purchased on an extremely huge discount for being a plus member, you get to keep it

Heck, I pay the same amount for XBL Gold every year just to play online xD (plus party chat) with no other real perks. However, I play on the 360 90% of the time mainly cause the multiplayer exclusives are a lot more fun for me, and I enjoy them more. Plus I can't ever enjoy playing shooters on the PS3... it's do-able but the experience for me would be a lot better with a 360 controller. Other games I'm fine with the PS3. So overall it depends on what you use out of that service, I justify paying for Live since I use it a lot, and benefit a lot from party chat. I justify Plus cause I get to try some games I normally wouldn't be able to, and also get discounts on games/dlc that I already planned on buying. Sorry for writing a novel lol.

    • I've barely played multiplayer online in the past few years... before I had a PS3 I couldn't justify spending 50 bucks a year anymore. Even now with a PS3 there's just not that many fun MP games on now that COD and Halo have lackluster sequels and nothing else has really caught my eye. And yeah I completely agree about the Xbox having a WAY better controller especially for shooters. PS3 feels too small in my hands.

Don't look now, but halo4 is going to be an awesome game. I got a chance to play it when I was at San Diego for Comic-con. Let me tell you, it was some of the best multiplayer I've played in a very long time.

This is gonna sound really whiny, and not to rain on your opinion or anything, but judging MP is impossible unless you get a chance to play it for at least 5 hours with a public community. That's when you see all the exploits come out and how well they actually programmed and balanced the game. The first few hours I played Halo 3 were fun too... and the first couple months of Halo 2 until I noticed all the auto-aim and starting with an SMG finally got on my nerves enough to quit.

Also, I'm a Halo 1 fanboy. I think it's literally flawless in its design and balance. And there's no way 343i are going back to that style of game. If they do I will gladly play it. But I don't see it happening especially after 343i butchered the re-release of Halo 1 by NOT including the original multiplayer and opting instead for Reach gameplay (UGH) with FIVE (what a joke) remade Halo 1 maps. A decision over which I am boycotting 343i indefinitely.

PM'd at BB Milton. Manager gave me a hard time saying local stores did not have it in stock. I had to remind him that there is no such clause in their PM policy.

    • PM'd at FS today for 16.49. This deal is hot especially with PMing, should be getting more attention. It's still 55 bucks at most stores. Even the regular edition on "sale" at places like EB was 39.99 and 29.99 at the Source. No idea why the SE went lower than regular but I won't complain.
