Free Web-Based Multiplayer Shooter Game Battlefield Heroes has Launched

Looking for an inexpensive game to play? How about a free one? DICE, the developer of popular titles like Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2142, has launched their free, web-based multiplayer FPS game Battlefield Heroes. The game is free to play, although it does work on the microtransaction model -- if you want, you can purchase in-game items and bonuses.

The game has a cartoony look not that unlike Team Fortress 2. The gameplay is closer to that of the Battlefield titles though, with some zany twists like the ability to ride on the wings of planes and such. It's free, so why not check it out?

- I've been playing the Beta game for over a month now. It's not a bad game. I play it more than TF2. It takes some getting used to, but overall a decent game and it's free

  Download it and play it free at battlefieldheroes.com , the only thing that costs money is the different outfits that you dont need except for esthetical purposes.

  The game is actually brilliant. If you have played Pangya (Albatross18) or Gunbound, or similar online games you will enjoy this one. Although, this one is more awesome.
