Costco

Costco.ca: Cineplex Print at Home Movie Packages including 1 Children's Ticket, Drink/Candy/Popcorn for $10.79

Cineplex Print at Home Movie Packages

Here's a nice bunch of Cineplex ticket offers from Costco.ca!

As far as we can tell, the five-pack of children's tickets are intended to be used all at once at the same day/time, so for smaller groups you'd be better off buying individual children's movie packages.

This offer isn't valid in Manitoba and "certain areas of Saskatchewan" although we haven't been able to narrow down the exact geographical limitation there. Tickets expire two years from the date of purchase (except for Saskatchewan and Quebec, where they do not expire).

You do not need to be a Costco member to take advantage of this offer.

    • This is the same as in store, right? Now I can just print them at home instead of having to go to Costco?

(referring to the 2 for 1 movie.. never noticed if the other ones are for sale in store).

    • Just for reference, the third package there will save you about $9-10 over purchasing everything separately with a scene card.

It's a buck of 2 cheaper in store from the stores i've been to.

Don't forget that there is tax on these, IMO it's only a good deal if you watch regular movies. You have to add the price difference if you want to buy 3D, IMAX, or AVX movies with these tickets.

      Seconded.

    • Yeah, a little cheaper in-store (2$ in Gatineau Qc), but if you're on the road and just want to get there it's still cheaper to buy online (txs included) than at the Theater w/ Scene card.. Ever since I buy these at the store, I calculated that I get a "free" movie even faster than with the scene card, and we get a popcorn and a soft drink to boot..

    • I bought one of these packges in the past and it took over 24 hours to get delivered the tickets in my email. I ended up buying tickets from theatre and returned this one to costco.

    • Don't buy these if you want to watch your movie a couple hours later. According to review, you might have to wait a couple hour to get your printable coupon.

In-store is ~2$ cheaper and works as soon as you have it.

you don't need a membership for costco online. you do, however, need it for the store.

I may be mistaken but I am pretty sure they accept your Scene card along with these Costco coupons so you can also earn a free Scene movie same as if you had bought the tickets at the theatre.

    • I ordered these in the past ... I did get them within 45 mins of ordering but I sweated it out.

So, couple of things to keep in mind:

      - experiences vary how long it takes to get your confirmation email/coupon. This may matter if you are trying to order at last minute online.
      - it's ~ 9.79 instore for the child tix.
      - you basically get the drink/popcorn/chocolate egg for the same price of a regular child's tix if you bought it at the theatre.
      - you don't have to redeem the food portion of the tix right away. You can redeem it at a later date if you wish.
      - they make a decent gift alternative.

    • I remember I used the adult night out package on a pair of 3D IMAX movie twice at 2 different theaters without paying the difference for them. And I could collect Scene Points as well. I guess it's just YMMV.

It's cheaper if you buy them at Costco physically and you have it instantly, whereas if you buy online you don't know how long it takes for your email to come.

Also, you can upgrade the food portion of the ticket for a small amount of money (I think I paid like 40 cents to up-size everything).

Definitely an error on their part. An IMAX ticket is roughly 16+tax (without 3D), even AVX is 16+tax at regular theatres since you include the 3D (usually) so you're paying the difference. When I used it at an AVX I paid ~$11 on top of the tickets I purchased from Costco.

actually you can't....i have bought the costco movie package via costco.ca a few times and used in silvercity riverport....even though the clerk scanned my scene card but the points were never added...

it's kinda stupid if you asked me...

    • This is a good deal for people who like to go to the cinema, but pretty old news and these packages have been available on the Costco website for quite some time and I believe they are available for other areas than just Manitoba and Saskatchewan. In my region we don't have Cineplex, so you can buy similar Empire Theatres packages in store and online at Costco.

I wrote a lengthy article about all the different ways I could possibly think of to save money on movie tickets (came up with 20+ ways):

    • I just realized that some theatres are priced differently even though they are Cineplex.

      In Scarborough, general admission is:

      Morningside: 8.50
      Scarborough Town Center: 10.99
      Eglinton Town Center: 10.99
      Fairview Mall: 11.99

It might be obvious, but I just wanted to point it out.

      Yes.

These are actual movie tickets .... just slightly discounted, so to speak.

They can be used for any movie, anytime.
