Cineplex Theatres: See The Muppet Movie & Other Family Favourites for $2.50 (Starts Feb. 18)

Here's a reason to get out of the house on Saturday morning and have popcorn for brunch! Starting on February 18 and until April 28, Cineplex Theatres will be showing family favourites at select theatres every Saturday morning (at 11:00 am). Tickets are only $2.50 per person for all ages. If you have a Scene card, don't forget to bring it as you can earn a maximum of 25 Scene points for your ticket purchase.

- Saw these small hand outs at my work place and should be present at the box office for everyone by now. So starting Saturday Feb 18th until Saturday April 28th will feature a different family movie at just $2.50 each for all ages. All shows look like will start at 11am as well, but only at select theaters

- Yeah, we have a BRAND new Cineplex theatre and we don't get these... have to go to London or Windsor.
  They had that promo last month too for $4.50 or something with some other classics, like Back to the Future, etc...

- I wonder what the quality will be like - I'm assuming they certainly aren't film prints but maybe high def digital masters are being shown. Interested to hear back once some people start going, because there are a few I'd like to go see - as long as they aren't just showing a DVD quality version it'd be worthwhile.

  3 and under is still free even with the special $2.50 price. I shall try to let everyone know next week how the films will be going down presentation wise. Like i said earlier they have been 2k Digital prints lately, compare to last year when most were Blu-ray presentations. Most of the films don't even have a Blu-ray release and good reason why i think they are digitally sent 2K films. Plus Cineplex is almost done converting all theaters to the Christie Digital Projectors from previous 35mm film projectors. I miss being a projectionist with 35mm films.

  Depends on how much you want your $2.50 back. Just bring in your ticket to the theater and they will refund your ticket no problem.

  I guess I could try, but as I was going through the process I'm sure it said more than once that the tickets were non-refundable. Not really a huge deal though.

- Just an update on the film and their presentations. Sadly THEY ARE NOT 2K DIGITAL FILMS. Went into my booth tonight and saw all our films in a mixture of DVD and Blu-ray discs for showing So heads up on folks wanting to see them on the big screen and will update the list on which are Blu and which are DVD

  The Blu-ray actually looks pretty great to stunning on the screen. Many of the encore met performances are done with the blu-ray player and sometimes look better than the live satellite presentation. We really haven't done a dvd yet but they should look a bit better with the up conversion provided by the HDMI and 2K Projector. So it will look a bit dull compare to the blu-ray presentations but again, they should be a bit brighter with the colour getting a bit of a boost.

- Went to The Muppet Movie today. The DVD menu popping up after the credits made me lol. Video quality wasn't great and the only audio seemed to come out of the speaker(s) above the screen but the target audience doesn't need much more.
  
  definitely worth the $10 though (4 tickets). Will be going to next week's too.

  They have, but they aren't as widespread as this event so far. Seem to be only in the bigger city areas, and had a thread here about 2 weeks ago. Everyone still does the classic movie for $5 which is a select movie twice a month. One Wednesday evening and Sunday matinee show. We have Willy Wonka and Blazing Saddles coming soon for the month shows.
  
  Oh and a big surprise to us was that we sold out our show of The Muppet Movie show today. Kept it in a smaller theater but still 160 tickets sold, and probably moving them to a bigger theater next week.
