    • Even with the $5 off - Chapters Indigo is still overpriced

      A book that I want is $53.73 on Amazon.ca
      but $72 - $5 on Chapters/Indigo

      Heh,
I always find in terms of pricing from worst to best it's:

      Chapters --> Amazon.ca --> Amazon.com

Recently bought a hardcover copy of a book from Amazon.com that came to just under $14 shipped. That is with their $8.98 shipping fee included. The cost on Amazon.ca and Chapters was over $20 BEFORE shipping and the taxes you would have to add for buying in Canada.

Sometimes you can find nice prices from Amazon Marketplace or the Used/Rare books section on Chapters, but usually the shipping kills it.

    • there are always exceptions, but i find in general chapters is comparable to amazon.ca on most titles if you sign up for the plum rewards discount (which is free). add the $5 coupon and most of the time you should come out ahead.

    • GCR gets you another 3.5% too.
You won't get a rebate if you use a coupon not from GCR.

    • Hi there,

That's not true, I used coupons before and it works. if you really want to be a real RFDer, you buy gift cards first (you get like 1%), then use the gift card to buy the books you want, hence anohter 3.5%.

      Ju Leon...

If you REALLY wanna be an RFDer, you do something like buy the Chapters gift cards from a service like CardSwap.ca at a discount (currently 7%)
      http://www.cardswap.ca/buy/merchant/...hapters-Indigo

Then use a coupon and GCR for cashback!

I tried it a few times with a coupon and I didn't get a rebate so I thought that was the problem based on their faq. That's good to know it should work, thanks.

don't think so, but the coupon is for $30+ purchases, and you can select free shipping if your order is $25+..... so no reason to do an in store pick up.

    • I've had a great experience with BookDepository UK btw. Free shipping

Pricing is great too. They are way better then indigo (except their stores have a great catalogue. See what you want and write it down then buy it from book depository online .)
