The Amazon.com Gold Box Deal of the Day is worth checking out if you're a fan of westerns and Clint Eastwood. It's the Dirty Harry Ultimate Collector's Edition on Blu-Ray or DVD. The Blu-ray version is $56.99 US, and the DVD version is $31.99. In comparison, the sets are $89.99 and $61.99 at Amazon.ca, respectively.

You get all five Dirty Harry films (Dirty Harry / Magnum Force / The Enforcer / Sudden Impact / The Dead Pool) and lots of special features. This offer is good for today only and only while supplies last.

Amazon.com does ship books, DVDs (including Blu-rays), and music to Canada. Shipping should cost about $8 US.

- Sadly i'm a bit young and have never seen any of these movies. What would this be comparable to? I really like The Good the Bad and the Ugly but i'm not sure about dirty harry :P

  I don't think Dirty Harry is really comparible to anything. The closest thing would be Gran Torino, but Clint Eastwood is much younger in the Dirty Harry movies and is not retired or senile... lol. I'm in my 20s, and I really enjoy the Dirty Harry movies.

  I placed the Blu-ray in my basket, then proceeded to checkout... I was presented with the following screen:

  Import Fees Deposit $7.37
  Order Total: $72.34
  
  After conversion, the price actually goes to something like CAD 81 and some change... Admittedly, the box set is much more expensive at our Canadian retailers, but considering that I've seen the individual Special Editions DVD versions for all these five films in various stores, ranging from 6 to 8 dollars, I don't think this is too good of a deal anymore...

  Plus, you may get the Import fees back, but I don't think I ever have.

  Columbia House sells the boxset for $89.99(the lowest I've seen at any CDN retailer). Then you still have to pay tax and shipping on top of that. That's how I figured the Amazon.com deal is pretty good.
  
  IMHO, any blu-ray for less than $20 is a decent deal. Anything less that $15 is HOT! At the end of the day you end up paying just under $20 per blu-ray.

  Got my order today, and guess what? I didn't have to pay customs/brokerage fees.
  
  I also checked my credit card statement and it shows I was only charged $82CDN. This was a solid deal since the movies work out to about $16.50 each.
