MBNA Smart Cash Platinum Plus MasterCard Offer
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

If you're looking for a flexible, no fee credit card that offers everyday rewards, we've got a great offer for you. Right now, if you sign up for the MBNA Smart Cash Platinum Plus MasterCard here and are approved, RedFlagDeals.com will provide you with $60 cash back!

If you're not already familiar with it, the MBNA Smart Cash Platinum Plus MasterCard is a very popular credit card with no annual fee card and cash back rewards on gas, grocery, and more. Here are the details:

  • Up to 5% cash back on all of your eligible gas and grocery purchases for the first 6 months‡
  • Up to 2% cash back on eligible gas and grocery purchases thereafter‡
  • And, up to 1% cash back on all of your other eligible purchases‡
  • 1.99% annual interest rate‡ (AIR) on balance transfers* and deposits* for the first 10 full months
  • And, with no annual fee and free additional cards you'll start to see the benefits right away

As a platinum card, it also carries the the normal platinum benefits, including warranty extension of up to one additional year on most new purchases and free car rental insurance when renting vehicles.

Note that you won't see any mention of the $60 in the application -- the $60 bonus is offered by RedFlagDeals.com itself and only through our cash back program. Assuming you are approved, it may take up to 5 weeks to see this bonus in your account.

this is way better than SC 2% and 400 cap eve accounting 99 annual fee, and SC gave me 1000 limit and not willing to increase, this is lowest credit limit I have, I am not happy with this

Where are the details on this one? I tried to search for it but can't find anything. I've already gone over the 6 month promo period on my mbna smart cash card and am looking for the next points deal. THX

    • Are you sure it is Smart Cash Platinum version.

From your application page, they only offer Smart Cash or World version.

By submitting this application, you: Understand that this is an application for both an MBNA SmartCash Mastercard credit card account (“Smart Cash Account”) and an MBNA Smart Cash World MasterCard credit card account (“Smart Cash World Account”). If you qualify for both accounts, upon approval we will establish a Smart Cash World Account for you; if you qualify only for a Smart Cash Account, upon approval you will receive that account.

Very sure. The Smart Cash is a Platinum card and doesn't exist as a gold or lower tier.

If you are approved for a World level card, you should still get the $100 bonus. I'm double checking that now.

Edit: Confirmed! If you apply and are approved for the Smart Cash World card, you'll get our $100 bonus.

That's correct. You apply on the same page, it's MBNA that will determine if you get a Platinum or World card. There's no separate application or option.

It is not the best card for those who routinely charge over $1,250 per month. After that limit you get zilch. For gas and groceries you will get 1% to the extent that you have not already exceeded $1,250 plus another 1% for up to $400 worth of G&G.

Please make sure you read Cash Back FAQ as it contains important information.

But to answer your questions quickly... assuming you are approved, you will see the $100 in your cash back account within 1-5 weeks. We pay out once per quarter (we're looking to make payouts more frequent) if you have at least $25 or $50 in your account ($25 for a PayPal payout, $50 for cheque).

    • Any idea what dictates whether you get the world or platinum?
Not specifically, but I would assume it would strongly take your credit history and personal/household income into account.

To my knowledge, World MasterCards have a $60,000 personal income and or $100,000 household income requirement.
