Should cost around $1300 after taxes/coupons/cashback when ebates was 12% a couple of days ago.
what! first 1700x almost equal to i7 6700, i think 6700is better for gaming. second gtx1070 is way better than gtx1060. third, look at the design and the size, cube is way better and more small than dell one.

There is about a $400 difference after taxes between the Dell and this Lenovo. You can sell the 1060 in the Dell for $300 and add the $400 in savings to buy a GTX 1080. The 6700 is a locked cpu which means you can't overclock. The 1700x can be overclocked to 4GHz and costs $470 alone. I'd take that over the 6700 any day.

by the way, dell one is only 8G ram, read the detail man, nowaday ram is not cheap
And the Lenovo comes with a 128gb ssd. The Dell comes with a 256gb m.2 ssd so they kinda even out. 8gb of DDR4 costs $70-80.

    • if you're willing to upgrade and switch a lot of it.. going to be cheaper building it yourself.

      6700 for 300.00
      motherboard 120
      psu 70
      Silverstone gd09 90
      ram 16gb 120
      gtx1070 450
      ssd 128 80
      hdd 80
      thermal paste 10.00
      keyboard 50
      mouse 25
1395 that's what it cost to build give or take. that price was a bit high although it would cost you time to build its close.

    • Ether prices are collapsing... you may see some used 1070s in the $450 range very soon. Waven101's prices are quite optimistic - you'd have to find some amazing deals or buy used (and get lucky) to find some of those parts so cheap.

I'd say the Walmart machine is a pretty solid value - about the same as what it would cost to build yourself, maybe even a little cheaper since GPU prices are still inflated (for now...). The Dell shouldn't even be considered for a gaming computer - it's unbalanced with too much CPU and a relatively weak GPU.

    • why do these gaming computers all have to look like transformer toys? There are a lot of gamers who are older than 15

I guess it is small enough of a case, you can hide it under your desk

    • This is basically the same specs as my main gaming rig (i used a 6700k instead of a 6700 and I have two 250GB M.2 drives) but I paid over $2000 for my pc alone. To be fair, I did splurge a bit on higher quality parts and brands but I think this price is very good.

To the person saying the dell rig is a better deal, not really. The 1700X is good if you're planning to both game and stream as it offers the most value. But the 6700 is much better for gaming. Also, the GTX 1070 is targetting towards people playing above 1080p at 60hz.

As for you saying the m.2 drive vs ssd. What kind of M.2 drive does the Dell come with? Because a SATA M.2 drive is actually cheaper than a regular SSD drive (Case and point, the Samsung 850 EVO M.2 is about $5 cheaper than the 2.5 drive). If the M.2 SSD that the Dell comes with is SATA, it will offer no performance improvements over the 2.5 drive. Just saying.

for me, I got both, the laptop is portable for gaming, especially nvidia this generation desktop gtx1060 = laptop gtx1060, they are about the same performance. and I got this cube in my living room for tv gaming, the cube is just small (many ppl here said you can almost build the same pc with this budget, but look at the size of it, you won't able to build like this small size ), and great performance in 1080p tv since i don't have 4K tv. geting tired of ps4 which cannot run games on 60F/S.
