I got a 50$ gift card with Telus
Went to FS and they agreed to give it to me for 0 upfront cost + 100 gift card, problem is they wanted me to change my plan.
currently i have a 60 dollar plan which gives me 3gb, they said i need to change to 110 plan to take advantage of this promo
o well
thanks!!
I was able to get the same one for $600 -$50 discount - $50 Gift card on Telus at Future Shop earlier this week (+$10 to sign up for Telus mobile service).
If you already have mobile service it might be worth it to get the LTE version for a bit more.
Hm, more storage or lte?
Total out of pocket today was $80+tax
Remaining balance is $480 or $20/month
Also got the $50 gift card which I'll pick up a case with but Queensway was slim pickings for cases
Overall I now pay $90 /month all in for unlimited nationwide talk/text plus 3gb including the 128gb ipad......overall a solid deal considering it still $699 at a number of retailers.
0% interest financing over the two years is great. Just don't get suckered in to the $15/month warranty like the couple beside me did
The rep had a promotion from Telus for an extra $50 off the device, so in addition to the $50 gift card, it's like getting $90 off the 128GB.
Unlimited nationwide talk and text
3gb data
$5/month for the tablet fee
$20/month for the 128gb/64gb ipad
So basically $65/month for my plan plus $25/month for the tablet.......pretty solid if you ask me
For $20 bucks more I can bump it up to 5gb but I should be cool with 3 for now
Only thing now is deciding whether or not I want to go 64gb or 128gb......I already have the 128gb being held at Futureshop for me
I actually am not looking to cancel. I wouldn't mind paying monthly for the tablet. However, it seemed like officially, my only option as a Fido customer (who has no plans to switch to Rogers / Telus) was to pay the listing price up front, which is not what the FS guy is telling me.
You can cancel right after signing the contact, so 480 plus the taxes, and if you used more than 50 megs, then u pay 10 for the line, if not, no 10 bucks for that month.
this deal has been on for three weeks now, so its nothing new.
I am asking because I am getting mixed messages. I called BBY and they said both deals from Rogers and Telus are for existing customers only and because I do not plan to switch carriers, I would only get the $50 activation gift card. On the other hand, I called FS and the person said I can pay off the tablet in 2 years at $20 monthly as a new customer. He is currently trying to find stock and will call me back.
I do notice on the websites of both companies that I probably have to be an existing customer to take advantage... so I was wondering if you signed up for a new voice plan to become an existing customer and then took advantage of the deal?
If so, do you plan to cancel early? What's the whole routine for that?
Lastly, why was your 128GB only $560? It shows $599 on the websites.
In my case, I got the 128 Mini from Telus and Telus gave an extra $50 off in addition to the $50 FS gift card. I was able to cancel immediately. I wonder if Telus has the same offer with the 64 GB. If they do, your out of pocket would be $440 minus a $50 gift card. If you already have a Telus account, there would be an extra $10 off since you don't need to buy the mobile SIM.
Seems too good to be true when you sign up for a data plan plus incentives (case and gift card), then cancel asap without returning the incentives at the same time.
You also get the $50 gift card.
The benefit to this deal is working the mobile reps. Since you want to get a data line, they will throw in incentives. I was given a free Apple Cover with my iPad Mini 2, so 49.99 accessory, and got to keep the $50 gift card. The 32 Gig from Rogers is still 519.
Ron.
The Mini 2 64GB Cellular would then have an expected price of $590, and the 128GB $700, though models with 64GB or more were discontinued after the Mini 3 came out.
Coupled with the $50 gift card offer, getting the iPad at about $430 (64GB) or $510 (128GB) is a pretty good savings.
