    • As far as I know, Konka is a major brand from China, just like Hair. No comments on the quality of the TV, but the price is quite decent.

      meh i picked up a daytek that im returning on friday lol.. its been a month i think

      and then im gonna try and get a daytek with the remote from sears cause im cool!

      i think so, the daytek i bought has a 30 day money back guarantee (satisfaction i think) and so basically take the reciept return it get it price matched and re-buy? lol

      also 3 year service plans are 29.95 or sumthing not too ridiculous on electronics under 500 bucks lol

    • I have had a 27 " Konka CRT Flat screen for almost 5 years, still going. Paid 239 for it at the time, was an excellent price cant complain.

    • I work in a zellers home entertainment area and can tell you that out of the 4 konka displays models running constantly over the past year, we only had problems with one of them [not picture quality, but a few of the buttons on the tv itself, channel volume etc, were unresponsive - that particular model was like that upon cracking the box open, though].

      Plain old cable and VGA inputs look hideous on the 37er, as expected, but I managed to plug in an up-converting DVD player into it with an HDMI cable and i was actually pretty impressed by how much the picture quality increased.

      Anyway to sum up, it's a decent buy at those prices.

      The old adage "You get what you pay for" applies here.
      This is not true. Yorx, Curtis, Jwin are low end "made for Canada" products. You will not find them in China. Konka is a Chinese brand for Chinese market. It is better than those "made for Canada" stuff. My parents bought a 29" 1080p CRT Konka in 2003, (Yes, 1080p. Electronics over there is about 3 years ahead of us here), it is working very well. The TV is on 10+ hour a day, 7 days a week. No problem at all. In short, if I need a cheap LCD TV for my bed room, I would choose a Konka over any store brand or those "made for Canada" brands.
