World of Warcraft is easily the most popular massively multiplayer online RPG and this past week Blizzard released a new patch that should make it even more popular. Their previous 14-day free trial has been replaced with the World of Warcraft Starter Edition. The Starter Edition is totally free to play with no time limits and even some of the content from the first expansion pack. You will be limited to an experience level of 20 though before you have to upgrade to the full version. Other than that there's no catch and you can definitely have a good times with friends before you decide whether it's worth paying to play.
