brother is the worst when having the printer turned off, it will start up randomly on its own (middle of night, waking me up) for doing a print head cleaning and that uses a lot of waste ink
my epson (r280) never had the problem with weekly printing (print on dvds only) for the last 3 years with the same printer
It's a misconception that laser is far better than inkjets. If I'm a small office, I'd take an Epson WorkForce Pro any day over any Laserjet.
Look up the reviews on some of these - most of the flagship Epson printers are really well reviewed.
If you plan to refill this yourself, then it defeats the purpose of buying this inkjet. People buy this inkjet due to the vibrant colors compared to other inkjets, and 3rd party ink will never be the same as the original ink.
I agree with the critism of Brother inkjets. It will actually do a cleaning cycle even if you've just printed several pages seconds before. The cleaning cycles seems to be scheduled for every few days regardless of whether you printed or not. If you want it not to clean during night time then make sure the clock on the printer is accurate.. I have never heard it clean during night time when the clock is accurately displayed.
