    • Well, for those interested in the tomtom GPS, just wanted to share my experience. It has been almost a year and many new major roadway built everywhere, included ones in my city and still there hasn't been a new map update. It is a bit sad that they are updated so infrequently.

    • On the GPS description it does say that the traffic receiver is included in the box. I don't think it's true since it's only the M model, what are the chance that this GPS is in fact the TM ?

    • Agree on the GPS - it doesn`t include the traffic receiver... this is straight from TomTom`s site: *USB Traffic Receiver only included with products that have Lifetime Traffic (T or TM).

    • I have had TomTom VIA 1535 TM, which is a 5" screen model + handsfree + traffic, for over a year and I believe it is still in its beta testing phase at user's expense. Sometimes it works, sometimes the screen refresh is too slow or it cannot fix on the satelites for over an hour. BT handsfree stops working after several days and requires the unit to be reset (tried with 2 different phones). The navigation routes are not always optimal - sometimes it suggests a longer route when a much shorter and faster route is availalbe (regardless of traffic). The traffic info is only for a few major highways is several cities and it is often inaccurate. 2 days after a weekend highway closure it thinks it still closed.

Go to the user's forum on TomTom web site to see all the issues with the VIA units. Do not buy it. It was the first and the last TomTom GPS device I bought.
