- For those looking for a 17" gaming laptop and have a US shipping address, you can get a Sager NP8170 with better specs for less money than the Asus.
  
  Go to any Sager reseller, e.g. xoticpc, and spec out a Sager NP8170:

  Upgrade the video card to a Radeon HD 6990M (quite a bit faster than the 560M) and pick the 12GB RAM (or 8GB 1600MHz RAM) upgrade, and you get a significantly better machine for $1410 USD after the $100 discount, free shipping, and $100 off the GPU upgrade. This includes tax and shipping. It's essentially the same laptop, but with a better graphics card. Just keep in mind that it doesn't include an OS.
  
  The Asus is $1580 after sales tax and you get less machine for the money.
  
  Some Sager customers have complained about heat & weight but other than that it's a pretty good deal.
  
  Anyway, just thought I would share - the Sager seems to be the best value for the buck for high end gaming laptops.
