    • This is indeed true, this coming Friday, Midnight Madness at Wal-Mart. I'll check my e-mail when I go into work tonight and see what I can find out, but I probably shouldn't post any of the deals until a little closer to the date...

Ummmm....isn't the intent of this forum to inform and educate savy consumers ?.....by "CDNDAN" posting a response to this public forum would benefit everyone who takes the time to review this great forum !! Emailing private responses to certain member would benefit only a select few !!

Am I missing something here ?...because Im getting the distinct impression that your comment lends itself to the "It's all about ME" syndrome.

Sorry, have taken a couple serious "deep breaths" of fresh air !! Im a "Sub Junior Member", new to this forum, but take retail deals very seriously...guess I misunderstood the humor - my apologies to all.....don't know why I got so excited about this "Moonlight Madness" sale anyway......I've been VERY disappointed in Walmart the last while....they are getting as bad as Zellers for stock inventory on advertised items !! Especially during their 2005 "Anniversary Sale"....a BIG disappointment !!

Knowing that WalMart has good prices to begin with, it's a given it'll be better than Stooples.

Just for the record, back in St. John's NFLD, Zellers used to have Midnight Madness back in the 70's in the month or so leading to Christmas.. always on a Friday night (I think K-Mart had it also)

However Zellers had a neat twist.

I remember that after you went through the checkout, you could take your receipt up this little makeshift booth where the Manager was and you cut a deck of cards for your discount.

5% was lowest you could get so duece to five was 5% nine was 9% and so on up to the Ace which was 15%

One single joker was in the deck also which was either 50% or free (can't remember it was 25 years ago). I am pretty sure it was free, cause I remember this missus had $200+ and she got the joker, she was screaming and kicking.. I thought she was gonna faint from the excitement. ($200 was alot of money back then to be shopping)

The funny thing is, they would give you the cash, right there and then.. (was a cash register FULL of cash).. remember back they people still used that cash stuff.

I always thought this was great Public Relations, and it was kinda fun watching people cut cards, not like the crappy scratch and save places have now.

      The good ol' days.

    • I don't think it will be opened till midnight.. probally some kinda of flyer title for it.. probally it would be regular store hours.. walmart is pretty cheap in their employees.. they wouldn't open till mid night.. except on in the month of december because of the christmas rush.

let me know if there is more infromation on this I'll look around I'll ask my friends that work at walmart also.

They had Midnight Madness here in Calgary at Walmart during their anniversary sale. And, yes, they were open until midnight. The store was empty. I bet there were 10 employees for every shopper and only one till was open with no line-ups!

    • Hey, sorry I should've specified that it will indeed be Nationwide as far as I know. Or at the very least at the larger markets. I'm in the GTA, and this will be in full force throughout the GTA. All I'm going to say in regards to sale items is Rollback...and on top of that should be some fun events for the customers to participate in...

I think the email thing was because some deals get censored if "leaked" too far ahead of time.

If Walmart complained to RFID, the owner would have to pull this post with the advanced deals to avoid legal actions.

So in theory if you email someone the deal, they can email it to 5 others members, and so on, in case it gets pulled/censored. Now thats going underground hardcore to sniff out the best deals
