Here's a pretty sweet deal on a popular and well reviewed Logitech gaming mouse from Staples. Until January 4, you can pick up the Logitech Optical Gaming Mouse G400 on sale for $29.99 -- down from $59.99 and a must buy for those looking into a new mouse. No, it's not a laser mouse, but the G400 is a well built model with features like:

    • This was my top choice for my aging G5, up to the moment when I found out that G400 has no tilt wheel. Might not be a deal breaker for most, but once you extend mouse's functionality with those wheel clicks (which would have to be customized via software), it's very hard to go back.

      They have nothing they can base the refusal to PM on. Its not a clearance price.

      I actually prefer the MX510 over the G400. The smaller mouse feet allows it to glide better (even better with teflon tape). Only real addition besides the feet is the enhanced refresh rate and DPI, but the refresh rate you can hack with the MX500 to be the same anyway. Also prefer the matte feel of the MX500 casing over the glossy feel of the G400. Also I like rubber dome keyboards over mechanical for the fact that they are silent (and can't be overheard over Skype calls) so I'd say that KB's a good choice.

      If you want a different mouse you can try this Logitech G300 one (with more buttons). Bestbuy has it for $24.99 and you can PM with BB ($22.49) or ME ($21.24):

    • This is a great gaming mouse. I have been using the MX518 (since 2006) which has now been discontinued and replaced by G400 by Logitech. Will have to go to local staples and hope they have stock.

    • I've gone through two of these within 2 months. The cable design is apparently f'd up and the mouse random disconnect/reconnects. First one I snagged the cable on a desk corner so I attributed it to human error(though visually everything looked normal), second one I babied and it still ended up doing the same thing. If I make a fast movement lifting the mouse off the table it disconnects and a few seconds later reconnects. I have to go through logitech RMA now and hopefully they will send me a replacement that isn't the g400. Its a shame cause the sensor is gggreat. My old mouse was a mx510 that is still solid after 5+ years.

      That's a shame. I've gone through 3 MX518's in the past 7 years. Logitech has great support and they will send you a new one in no time!

      answer was "nope, we can't do it"
      lol..

      I notice pricematching in Canada is getting worse and worse.
      Probably
      a) due to RFD, twitter, social networking and other sites, public are more aware of where the best prices are, these are retailers nightware
      b) a tough economy/competition forcing them not to approve any PM
      c) by refusing legitimate PMs, people will hate but will eventually accept the reality and won't try to PM again in their lives
