Staples: Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 & Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Bundle $79.94 (Today Only)

Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 + Premiere Bundle $80
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

Forum poster Shearer spotted a nice deal for those of you who have been waiting for the Adobe Photoshop Elements & Premiere to drop in price. Today only, Staples has the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10 bundle for $79.94 (regularly $189.94).

Since their release (in September 2011), Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Premiere Elements 10 have become a popular consumer choice for those who want a more affordable editing product. The reviews at Staples.ca and Amazon.com are mixed with some citing that the program is not user-friendly while others praising the software's easy functionality and simple editing options. If you're a casual photo and video enthusiast who needs to do basic editing, then this bundle should suffice. If you're interested, the offer is available in stores and online. There's a limit of 1 per customer.

I used to be like you but now I either buy my software or get free legit versions...not worth the risk of installing something that someone placed a backdoor into your computer that you bank, purchase, and other personal things on.

I think i paid the same price at Costco last year, worth it at this price for both software.

I am hoping that you are saying you are a developer and that you don't need to pay for software because it is given to you in your line of work, and not that you steal it.

    • I believe in buying software but I would NEVER buy virtual goods. (domains and hosting is a service)
Some people like me want to learn how to use PS CS5.5 (btw cs6 is a huge upgrade supposedly) without paying $700 most because they can't afford it.
I must thank Adobe for intentionally making the pirating of their software easy because the users usually end up to be buyers because they make great software.

Animal? I find that its more of a ethical issue when not purchasing software. Please buy your software! Support devs. They work harder then many musicians/"artists" out there.

Nobody pays full retail on anything if they are on this site. That's equally barbaric.

    • I have a few simple newb questions.
How do these programs compare to lightroom?
Do they do the same things, are they harder or easier to use?
Would I want lightroom in addition to these two programs?

Thanks for reading and any helpful replies.

EDIT: I'm getting a dslr in the near future and this seems like a good price for these programs.

    • I ordered from B&H photo yesterday. When I saw this I was ready to throw something, but I bought it from B&H for $69 and I also bought Elements 10 for someone else for $49. Even with shipping it was cheaper for both.

The funny part is I tried to price match Staples and they wouldn't do it. And now it is on sale for almost the same price...oh well, their loss

      Quick answers:
They are not quite the same as lightroom, although photoshop can do the same sort of thing.
Lightroom is really only useful if you plan on shooting RAW files with your new DSLR... it is basically a quick RAW editing software that is easy to use and quick. It's mostly for post processing RAW into jpg's with the ability of some simple "special effects". Photoshop is a full out editing software to do "special effects" and/or just plain processing and is much more powerful then Lightroom and then again can be harder (less user friendly) to use. Premiere is video editing software.
Yes, you might want lightroom in addition to these two programs, if like I said you plan on shooting RAW and have 100's of shots to process quickly. I use Lightroom for quick post processing of huge gigs (weddings) to get the shots all colour/contrast corrected, then I'll throw specific shots into Photoshop CS5 Extended to do special effects and specific edits. I use Premiere CS5 for video/slideshow editing.

Some people's parents raised them right and they do not steal. Others... well I am sure you get it.

      Thanks a lot dorkus99!
I guess I'll shoot raw+ jpeg most of the time. So it sounds like Elements is good, I'll try and purchase it tomorrow.
I can get Lightroom4 whenever it goes on sale as well.

      Thanks again!

    • How will this compare to CS5 that I used for photo-editing in school? I've read the 'curve' functionality in Elements is pretty gimped compared to Photoshop. All I really do is basic colour correction using levels and curves and I'm no power user. But it is for newspaper/multimedia production. If anyone has had hands-on with this program, I'd appreciate some insight.
