this offer is expired

If you're an existing Skype user, you'll definitely find this offer useful. Right now, you can enjoy unlimited free worldwide calling for an entire month! Normally, calls to landlines or mobiles require Skype credit which involve fees and whatnot but, if you participate in the offer by November 15, you can enjoy those perks for no charge. Basically, you get to enjoy all the features of a paid Skype account at no cost.

The offer is only redeemable by Skype users who have had an account for more than 29 days and a fair usage policy applies. You will also be asked to enter payment details although that's only if you forget to cancel the service -- which is automatically extended if you forget. More details can be found here.

Offer must be redeemed by November 15.

    • Make sure you cancel your subscription tough because to register for a free month you must pre-authorize payment for the following months.

    • To clarify, it's free for 1 month, but if you forget to cancel, they will automatically charge you for the following month.

    • Not at all unlimited worldwide. It's unlimited calling to only 7 countries (who calls Guam???) and another 40 where only calls to landlines are included. So please make sure you check the fine print before you get excited )

(oh, and please make sure to cancel after the first month hihihihi)

    • If you are cancelling the subscription, ensure you do it 27 days before the start day. which means, after 3 days of activation of the free worldwide call, you need to remember to cancel it to not get charged.

    • Think about whether you want a month of free phone if you need to enter your payment info, from the company that doesn't let you cancel your skype account ever.

    • Not really a good deal due to "cancel within 27 days of the start date" and have to give them a pre-authorized credit card to start with. Reminds me of the early days of America On Line (AOL) where it was easy to sign up but getting off the deal was difficult due to tied up lines and non responses to emails. Better beware. I will not go for this.

    • Subscribed 2 days ago and thought that it is strange that my account showed the 1st month was charged against my credit card. On the free website, there is no "tab" for Free 1st month. Contacted Skype and was told that I did not subscribe to the free service and refused refund. Furthermore, the "cancel" subscription button doesn't work. I am going to dispute this charge with my CC company.
KEEP AWAY from any paid subscription from SKYPE

    • Here is the e-mail you get after you redeem this deal:

      ---
Thank you and congratulations on setting up your free trial of a subscription. You can now start calling numbers included in your subscription, and stop worrying about time, distance, or cost. A fair usage policy applies.

If you find you love reaching phones with Skype you won't have to do a thing to continue. We'll activate your subscription and set up a recurring payment at the end of your free trial.

Want to cancel? No problem, simply visit your account within the first 27 days.
      ---

Redeemed this afternoon, Nov 6th, and they list the next payment as Dec 3rd (27 days away, not 30). So it seems I should have until Dec 3rd at the latest to cancel.

No further payments will be taken unless you reactivate this subscription.

So you can redeem this deal today, cancel after receiving the confirmation e-mail, and still take advantage of the deal without risking further payment.

    • Great, the Columbia House business model. Negative option billing is insultingly stupid and a sad indicator of where Skype is headed.

    • Oops - it looks like this trial has either expired or isn't available for this Skype Name.
Please ensure you've signed in with the Skype Name the free trial was sent to.

Got this message? Anyone else got it?
