    • Is the monitor good deal?

After the promo code + gift card of 20 $, it would come down to 137 $ for me (Quebec), taxes included (free shipping).

23 inch monitor with speakers, 2 ms response time.. the only thing i dont like is it's lcd and not LED, and the screen is not slim..

Maybe you should do some more reading about displays before buying anything.

There's a plug in shown in the pics. USB can't provide enough to power this

Well you definitely stick it in somewhere, but I can tell you right now it isn't a computer and I can't really go into any more detail on this forum.

By the way, sale is cold.

Sure there is. Both use LCD panels. LED is only the type of backlight being used.

I know, that backlighting has an effect on power consumption, and apparently picture quality also.

Again, didnt say i knew that much, but is what i am saying wrong?

LED monitors seems to be the better choice IMO.
Better contrast ratio and lower power comsuption ftw!

I'm pretty sure he's referring to the fact that you said "LCD vs LED" when you really meant to say "CCFL vs LED". Both backlighting technologies are used in LCD monitors.

Not necessarily lower power consumption, often it would be the same, check the numbers for yourself.
Better contrast only if it supports local dimming, the average slim/thin edge lit LED LCD doesn't and have more bleeding and less uniformity than regular CCFL.

Also non RGB-LED/cheap white LEDs will have worser gamut than CCFL and is dangerous for our health as it's simply a blue LED coated with phosphor, see http://texyt.com/bright+blue+leds+an...e+health+risks

but what if they actually wanted an LED not an LCD... but then they'd be the ones that'd go to places like digikeys and problem solved.

*further clarification I was clearly not talking about monitors and suck at trolling*

that said nothing particularly sticking out anyone else see anything?

BTW: the hitachi definitely had some good feedbacks...

Pros: Got this along with a switch to modulate the speed for my wife's pleasure. On that note - it's the best we've ever had so it was worth every cent. I know there are a lot of compatible attachments as well but we're happy with it as it so far. Also it's great for massaging! Wonder or wonders!

Cons: yeah... none. Except maybe that I had to buy a separate speed modulating switch but that's nice too 'cause I get to drive the speed while she pilots the control stick.
I thought that was it's main purpose >.> apparently not

the way they display is different.

LED is built on LCD technology. you'll get close to True Colours (what you will see when you look outside your window) with LED.

also, LCD only projects in certain angles. ie. if you look at it from the side, it will look like ****. LED does not have that problem, you can view it at any angle and it will still display the same colour

The issue is the way people are saying it.
Maybe it would be easier if I break it in parts.
      1. They want LED.
      2. They don't want LCD.
      3. Fact: Monitors that back lit with LED are also LCD monitors.
Therefore, saying that they don't want LCD monitors, they are contradicting themselves saying that they want monitors with LED.

LCD is the type of display. LED is the backlighting technology. As someone already said, the correct term should be CCFL vs LED and not LCD vs LED.

LED also penetrates through solid matters better because of its inherent lower PWM dimming frequencies, so you can mount it inside your wall still be able to see through it thanks to its peak wavelength spectrum in the blue.

      ...I hope you're kidding right?

What the heck are you talking about? What you said is almost as bad (if not worse) than the person you quoted! Viewing angle has nothing to do with LED vs CCFL backlighting. It was to do with the LCD panel that sits in front of the backlighting. Read up on TN LCD vs IPS LCD.

Also, LED may produce more vibrant colours, but CCFL still produce more accurate colours, which is why many people who work in design and photo editing still prefer CCFL over LED (at least until RGB LED backlighting becomes mainstream/cheaper).
