Mobilicity: All Data Plans Reduced to $30 (Ends July 22)

Mobilicity: Data Plans Reduced to $30 (Ends 7/22)
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

If you have a cell phone plan that's about to expire, or are just looking to rid yourself from your existing contract, Mobilicity has a pretty good limited time promotion you might want to look into. Right now, all of their data plans have been reduced to $30, which means you can save $25 per month on their Unlimited Everything plan. Full details can be seen here but some terms and conditions do apply with the most notable being the one year limit for the promotional pricing.

Despite being only available for one year, this is a very good deal if you're within the Mobilicity zones. Here's what's included in the Unlimited Everything plan that can be had for $30:

  • Local Talk
  • Province Wide Long Distance
  • Caller ID
  • North American Text
  • Call Waiting
  • North American Picture Messaging
  • Call Forwarding
  • 3-Way Calling
  • Voicemail
  • Global Text
  • Canada Wide Long Distance
  • Data
  • 60 Minutes North American Voice Roaming
  • U.S. Long Distance
  • Phone Protection Plan

For $30, this is definitely something to consider if you're within the Mobilicity zoning map. Comparable cell phone plans from other providers won't come close to this pricing so take a hard look at it before making any long term decisions.

The deal is live now but only until July 22.

    • Good deal. Just a heads up, it only lasts for 1 year from sign up, then back to regular price

    • man Mobi is freaking desperate ... instead of having peanuts when it comes to ARPU why don't they expand their network or better yet sell the company to WIND ... I don't get Mobi's business model ... honestly!

    • Mobilicity keeps having these promos almost every 2-3 months. Technically if you get this promo, after a year or even before your year is up, you can switch again to a similar plan. You are not loosing anything here.

Is it month to month, or is it a 3 year contract?

Has anyone dealt with their "retention"/"loyalty" department? I wanna switch but I'd rather have something for life...

Growing carrier to extend its unlimited coverage zones into Hamilton, Ajax and more cities across Canada

TORONTO, June 21, 2012 /CNW/ - Mobilicity today announced future plans to widen its unlimited network west of Toronto into Milton, Oakville, Burlington and Hamilton to answer the growing demand for its affordable, unlimited talk, text and data service. East of Toronto, Mobilicity will launch in Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa. In Ottawa, the carrier will focus on building out the network in Barrhaven, Orléans and Cumberland.

"We've spent the last year on network densification to provide a great network experience amidst tremendous growth in our existing service area," said Mobilicity President and Chief Operating Officer Stewart Lyons. "Now it's time to expand outward and bring Mobilicity's smart, affordable wireless service to more Canadians than ever."

Mobilicity also confirmed it is in the process of extending its unlimited network within the Greater Vancouver Area to include White Rock, Pitt Meadows and the Richmond-Surrey commuter corridors. In Edmonton, Mobilicity is expanding around St. Albert to the north and southward to the airport. The network updates will soon be reflected on the carrier's coverage map.

In recent news, the company yesterday announced it applied for Official Holiday Status of National Break Your Wireless Contract Day to enable Canadians to get out of their wireless contracts without incurring unfair, punitive early contract termination fees.

Last week, Mobilicity confirmed it will upgrade its HSPA+-enabled network to 4G later this year. The move will result in download speeds of up to 21Mbps, and will enable customers to leverage the full performance of cutting-edge 4G smartphones and browse the web, run apps and watch video clips on their smartphones with enhanced quality and speed.

    • The reason I left Mobilicity for Wind was exactly for that reason -- their coverage was just TOO restricted

So I'd say this is great news depending on how long it will take them to actually expand coverage

    • Even if you get reception in your area, in my experience, Mobilicity randomly disconnects you off the network. I use Mobilicity right now.

    • Somebody on another forum (hofo) I think said that although it's unlimited data if you do over 100mb in an hour they throttle you down hardcore for the next several hours

I don't remember exact numbers and figures but it was something to that effect

I bet your phone is an HTC Panache. I'm with Mobilicity and I've had nothing be trouble with this phone. Random disconnects and low signal are all phone issues and not with the network. I have a friend who's also on Mobilicity and we'd be in the same room. My phone would have one bar and then disconnect and their phone, a Motorola Spice, would have full bars and never disconnect.

Agreed, I am on mobilicity for my personal line and no hiccups. Yes, data is slow but voice is perfect. Reception is really good in Mississauga/Brampton.

    • Hi guys,

I heard mobilicity doesn't allow stacked promotion.
So if I want this $30 plan and purchase the blackberry curve from them for $150, would it be ok?

      Thanks for sharing

    • We have 3 lines with Mobilicity, 2 Nexus-S phones & 1 BB Curve for between 8-15 months, and we have no disconnection problems. Voice quality is very good. I have had problems dialing out around Yorkdale mall few times, but overall I can't complain for the price. Also really like the $0.20/min U.S. roaming. Data is generally slow, but we have WiFi around most of the time and for email/chat 3G is fine. We had couple of weeks without internet last Dec (switching to Bell Fibe and they screwed up the hookup as expected). We used our Samsungs to tether and we did not notice slowdowns besides it generally being slowish. I hope they last because if Wind buys them out then Wind will be part of the big 4 in no time. Wind has already raised prices few times.

new activations does include new port-ins and you don't have to buy a phone, probably just a sim card (depends on the dealer)
