For pure performance, the Y580s look good. A quad core i7 Ivy Bridge processor, GeForce GTX660M 2GB, and 1080p display are a nice combo at under $1000. The 14" Y480s have a comparatively weaker graphics card and standard 1366x768 displays, but they are still quite powerful given the price point and form factor.

Shipping is free. The offers expire August 12.

Thanks Andrew. Saw the same above system (#2 in your original post - 20993BU) last week, using same CAPREDFLAGDEALS code, but it was $1099+taxes...now, it's $100 cheaper at $999+taxes.

Called Lenovo to get the price adjusted! Saved another $113 (taxes in) -> KA-CHING!!!

Makes the glossy screen and bilingual keyboard more palatable now...maybe can use the savings to get a replacement keyboard. Anyone able to source a replacement US keyboard? I looked up and down last week, and could not find one.

How did you manage to get it for $1149 tax-in? For me, with 3 years basic warranty, it comes to total of $1,202.38. Please send details, thanks!

    • Does anybody have this. I'm looking into buying the Y580 for my fiance.

She plays World of Warcraft, so Id take the 1080p model with the GTX660M. I'd buy the one without the mSATA disk, and add one after. Just wondering if that is possible ?

This is way more than enough power to play WoW. And yes you can add a msata drive later.

Doesn't hurt to try calling them. $100 is $100 if you get lucky with your argument. Few guys here got a refund but they were same model numbers as the ones on sale.

Btw is your bluray/dvd combo a bluray writable/rewritable or just dvd rw-w?
