This is great for startups and small businesses unable to fork over $5000 for AutoCAD GIS.
If you don't get what this is useful for, you probably don't need to post. I don't need it, but have worked in the industry and can acknowledge the extreme benefits this program will provide. So I'll thank the OP and forward to former colleagues.
Very fun and interesting, but was never something I found fun or interesting enough to pay for. Now no worries on that.

If you're looking for streetview and basic over head images, then Google Maps is just fine.

Google Earth does have the option to toggle between recent and older satellite and streetview images, so it's sometimes nice to see how building developments have changed over time.
Working with Google really is a pain for developers. They change or retire their APIs on a regular schedule of about 18 months, so that it requires constant investment of resources to keep up. You can never rely on anything because it might disappear on a whim. It's impossible to talk to Google unless they are trying to sell you advertising.
