Future Shop

Future Shop: Refurb Lenovo IdeaPad V570 15.6" Laptop w/Intel Core i5-2450M, 6GB RAM, 500GB HD $330

Future Shop: Refurb Lenovo IdeaPad 15.6
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

If you're in the market for a laptop and don't mind buying refurbished, Future Shop has a decent deal on a 15.6" Lenovo you might be interested in. For a limited time, you can pick up the refurbished Lenovo IdeaPad V570 15.6" Laptop with Intel Core i5-2450M, 6GB RAM and 500GB HD for $329.99. On average you're looking to pay about $100 more for the unit so you'll want to place an order soon to avoid missing out.

Despite being a refurbished model with an older i5-2450M processor, there's still a lot of value here for the cost. The processor is still very capable for daily tasks and the 6GB of RAM and 500GB hard drive should be enough for most users. It's a little on the heavy side at 5lbs but it's still a very capable laptop for those who need the portability.

The deal is live now but expires on January 10.

no problem, it looks like a hot deal (refurbished by Lenovo). I use the rule "buy now think later", to be safe just in case it runs out of stock

    • Thanks for the heads up on the P580 price drop OP. Just purchased this 3 days ago @ $399. Time to call CS and ask them to adjust the price. Or I'll just re-order at the new price and return the other unit. Although I don't think that will be necessary.

    • This looks like a great price any thought of running 1080p videos? Shouldn't be an issue right?

Thinking this could be a great HTPC - 90% of the time and still take it with me if heading to a friends place... thoughts?

For $50 more, much better deal than in the OP. Just make sure to buy it using a credit card that doubles the warranty to 2 years; Lenovo hinges have a habit of breaking.

I have the same Z580, only new in the US a few months ago (non-refurb) for $350 AR and with 8 GB RAM. Not a bad system, but the Ideapad trackpad sucks, and the 1366 x 768 screen resolution is crappy but typical for sub-$1000. Nice: minimal bloatware.

Stay away from Windows 8 on these units (or on anything without a touchscreen for that matter IMHO).

    • Never bought refurbished (knowingly :p ) before. I would need to add warranty on this, for a few years. Have you guys dealt with Best Buy warranty (or F/S for the other deal) before, is it worth?

I was annoyed by this too until I saw a recent post saying that you could get around it by using the iOS Future Shop app. I found out that I could order the refurbished Lenovo P580 on New Year's eve via either the iOS or Android app. i have the delivered laptop sitting next to me in Montreal (arrived yesterday) as proof so if you are able to try one of those workarounds you should be able to bypass that restriction. it may at first restate that restriction when you first choose your shipping address but if you persist and go ahead and try to complete your order you should be able to do so successfully. Good luck.

I never, ever buy extended warranties from stores, except for AppleCare (and I buy that off eBay at a big discount). If it's offered by NEW (National Electronics Warranty or a store-branded version), run for your life! Crooks. Most try to weasel out of repairs for nitpicky crap. The only other warranty I would trust is SquareTrade with damage coverage, but they apparently don't do "buy your own" warranties in Canada like in the US.

If you can use a credit card that doubles the warranty up to a year, do that. It's free.

    • I ordered this on new years day and just received it yesterday. Couple of the keys were not working on this laptop (p580) so I returned it. Bit apprehensive about ordering it again as the quality may be a little shoddy.
