If you're a student living abroad or just need a desktop replacement for home, Future Shop has a decent deal on an HP notebook you might want to take a look at. For a limited time, you can pick up the HP 15.6" laptop with Intel Core i5-2450M, 750GB HD, 6GB RAM, HDMI and integrated Bluetooth for $599.99 or $549.99 if you trade in an older notebook. Though it has some shortcomings, this is still a decent price for what you're getting.

For a penny under $600, you're getting a second-generation Intel Core i5, sizeable hard drive and average amount of RAM. The screen resolution is on the low end at 1366x768 and you're not going to be doing much gaming on it as it lacks a dedicated GPU. Bluetooth and HDMI connectivity are nice additions but the lack of a USB 3.0 port and just about five and a half hours of run time leave a lot to be desired. Just a quick note, the picture shows the notebook has a built in webcam but the spec sheet says otherwise. Either way, this is a solid notebook if you plan on using it for work and work-related activities.
