Free Download of Adobe Photoshop CS6 Beta

Here's a great freebie from forum user wongbr: Adobe Photoshop CS6 is on the way, and they released the beta version yesterday. Right now, you can give the new features a whirl by downloading the beta version for free.

The great thing about this download is that you do not need a serial number in order to install/use the program. When installing, make sure you select "I want to try Adobe Photoshop CS6 for a limited time" at the Welcome screen. You will need to enter your Adobe ID (or register for free) in order to complete the installation. The free beta will be valid until the final version goes on sale later this year.

Here's a look at a few of the new features you can look forward to testing out in CS6:

Content-Aware Patch Tool
One-click dashed and dotted lines
Tilt-Shift Blur Tool
Four new UI colour schemes
Layer filtering
Auto-save and background save
New document presets for common devices, such as iPhones and iPads
Insert "lorem ipsum" function for type

- I'm kind of confused. I already have CS5 running. If I install this Beta, what happens when the official release occurs ? Does the Beta stop working ? Am I obligated to purchase CS6 or can I revert back to my CS5 ?

- What download speeds are people managing from adobe.com? With just Chrome it was averaging 150KB/s. Stopped it and used IDM instead and am averaging about 1.3MB/s. Would have liked to see 3MB+ at least but this is better than 150KB/s that's for sure.

  Hovering around 2.0 - 2.6MB/s. I'm on Teksavvy's 12 plan though.

  Using Firefox, I was getting 1.0MB/s which is my limit at work.
