Fido: Nexus 4 $100 on 2-Year Plans, $425 Off-Contract
If you're tired of waiting for the Google Play Store to refresh with new Nexus 4 models, you might want to consider heading to Fido and picking one up for $100 on select two-year plans or for $425 off contract. Though a little more expensive than buying straight from Google, those who can't wait to get their hands on the new flagship will want to take this into consideration.
Again, while the pricing isn't as good as Google's, the cost might be offset for some by the fact that it's a crapshoot when they do go back in stock and when it expects to be shipped. For those that can't wait, it might just be easier to head to one of the many Fido locations to pick it up the popular device on the spot.
Though not available for purchase now, MobileSyrup has more information here. They expect you'll be able to order the Nexus 4 starting on February 13.

I would say it's a decent deal
I bought the 16gb version off the Play store and it came to be around $390 with shipping + tax
And Wind wants to sell it for $550 outright =/
So $480 no shipping and local pickup is not that bad.
From the Play Store, it's $359 + $20 (shipping) = $380.
From Fido, it's $425.
An extra $45 for not having to wait for shipping and to have a physical brick and mortar store to go into for any problems/repairs/issues you may have with the phone and it's $45 well spent I'd say.
Awesome deal by Fido for once.
$359 + $18 shipping from Play Store = $377 + local taxes
So Fido is selling for about $50 MORE than the Play Store (yes you pay taxes in a Fido store - in case you were thinking it was a magical land of pixies and fairies)
No thanks.
$100 on 2 year contract is still crap for a $377 phone. That's $277 subsidized over 2 years (~$138/year) versus getting something like the GS3 on a $0 sale and about $600 subsidized over 3 years (~$200/year)
You're welcome for actually doing the math.
It is $359 + Tax + $16.99 S/H.
For Albertans, it would be like this:
8 GB: 309*1.05+16.99 = $341.44
16 GB: 359*1.05+16.99 = $393.94
Fido:
16 GB: 425*1.05 = $446.25
I would rather buy from the Play Store just for the warranty service provided by Google (and it's considerably cheaper too).
You could buy cases and screen protectors and still be better off by buying from Google directly.
Meh. I agree that Google Play's warranty service has been stellar having RMA'ed my Nexus 4 myself. However, some people just don't want to deal with RMA shipping and all that junk and like the B&M interactions with real people. Still, $50 bucks for having the phone instantly over 2-3 weeks now on the Play Store is still a decent deal -- especially when we are talking about telcos here.
