FaceTime for Macs, Video Calls To or From Mac Computers - Free Download
At October 20's Back to Mac Event, Apple introduced a public beta of FaceTime for Mac. With this application Mac users can now video call iPhone4 users, iPod touch (iOS 4.1) users and even other Macs. So you don't have to spring for an iPhone 4 to get in on the fun!
FaceTime features picture-in-picture view so you can simultaneously see yourself and the person you are calling, and for iPhone 4s or iPod touch users it automatically adjusts to front or rear cameras and landscape or portrait views. To download FaceTime you'll need to be operating on Mac OS X v10.6.4 Snow Leopard or later. Set up of FaceTime on your Mac is simple, all you'll need is your Apple ID and an email address.
In addition to the FaceTime announcement, Apple also announced a cheaper and sleeker MacBook Air at Back to Mac. You can check these out at the Apple Store (prices range from $1049 for the 11" 64GB version to $1649 for the 13" 256GB version).
Note: Since the launch of FaceTime for Mac beta on October 20, some potential security flaws have been exposed, so you may want to wait until Apple has remedied this before downloading. UPDATE: These issues have been addressed, enjoy!
