      Seemed like a good deal so I ordered the Vostro 3570, $629 + tax after rebates. The only thing is expected shipping date is August 10th.

      Awhile ago I ordered an XPS17. The shipping date was a couple of weeks away (or more), but the laptop shipped within a week. Dell typically extends the dates so the customer expectation is preset. LOL. :-) Anyway, it's a YMMV anyway, but like I said, you may be surprised to see it ship sooner.

    • ya i thought i remembered something like that. Im on vacation out of province starting on tues for 3 weeks, so im having it shipped there. I know its a hassle if you miss a dell shipment. Last time they held it at purolator desk for 5 days then it got returned with a refund.
      seems like a hot deal to me, discrete 525m video, i7, backlit keyboard, it will be my first 17", so gaming is a possibility.

      EDIT: order status online now says estimated shipping is aug 16, possible rfd effect? lol. might have to get it shipped back to me then.

      I believe they have up to a 5 year Premium support and NBD on-site replacement available for ~$200. Also less years for less $ as well.

    • ok, about to pull the trigger on the Desktop. Can anyone tell me what ports the Intel® HD Graphics 2500 has? Need to run current dual monitors with DVI and VGA. Will I need to buy an HDMI converter? I am con sidernig using the on-board for now and then upgrade the video card later if needed.

    • I think the best deals of the bunch are the 15" laptop and the Vostro 470. I picked up a Vostro 470 2 months ago (the same config) put a bigger power supply and Radeon 6850 in it... no complaints so far.

      The prices are valid through 6AM ET on July 26.
      After upgrading to 1TB HDD and 8 GB RAM, it is still $609 with the coupon. It's not an i7 CPU but at this price point, looks like the lowest price of the year. What price did you pick yours up at 2 weeks ago Andrew?

      I waslooking for that model too... 3360, but to me the backlit keyboard is what I need, maybe beacause I was spoiled by their previous model
      V131 which I love .....
      and 14" is not tha much big to 13.3?

      Just picked up 256gb ssd, anyone know how much is a setup dvd and/or a drive bay to replace the optical drive?
      Seems nobody at dell works weekends.
