      it says that because the charger will hold 4x AA or 4x AAA (as ji2o0k has already mentioned). the OPs post is correct.

      i remembered back in 07-08 when the old family pack eneloop went on sale that had 4 C & 4 D for < $19.99, i kicked myself since then i didnt pull the trigger.
      nowadays, the new family only comes with 2CD which sucks because i need at least 3 of each but i dont want to buy 2 sets.
      buying C&D only are expensive. theyre going for at least almost $2 each.

      just like selling a charger that includes car charger instead of giving your more batteries
