      Are rfd moderators/staff writers except from following the rules?
      Yes, it's different in this case. The TOS rules are exempt for sponsors, and Dell is a sponsor. This is less of a hot deal and more of RFD Paid advertizing. There are some really great LCD deals sometimes.

      It was addressed both in the announcement thread and in sites comments and suggestions: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/clutt.../#post14824061.

      To recap, we did not make a hard rule against a announcements. "Long before the sale is live" in this case is less than 1 hour (something we've adjusted from the night before to better align with the spirit of the new posting guidelines already). There's a link to the sale in the first line sentence, which updates with the new day's items shortly after we make the thread.

      We do this on Dell Days of Deals because it's easier for us than typical users to keep threads updated daily. Is it a perfect solution? No. Does it get the job done? Yes.

      Dell has a wide selection of models and prices. Also, they are quite customizable; although to a lesser degree when you start looking at low-profile form factors.
