looking to buy a GPS
It all depends on your needs. 1390 vs. 1490 comparison notes the 1490 screen size is bigger and has routing, though it weighs more and battery life isn't as good. I guess it all depends on how much you value that $10.

BTW, these are the suffixes Garmin uses: LM=Lifetime Maps and T/LT=Traffic

I've cracked my old Garmin last week, and so missed out on 2460
Lifetime maps means up to 4 map updates per year, as long as you own the unit.
