Best Buy: Asus15.6" Laptop w/Intel Core i7-3610QM, 750GB HD, 8GB RAM, 6-Cell, Win 7 $569.99

Best Buy: Asus15.6
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

If you're still holding out for a good laptop deal but need to make a decision sooner rather than later, Best Buy has a good deal on a 15.6" Asus model worth checking out. Forum user lorenzo1000 has spotted the Asus15.6" Laptop with Intel Core i7-3610QM, 750GB HD and 8GB RAM on sale for a very affordable 569.99. Normally around the $700 mark, this is a good price for what you're getting and should last students and commuters for awhile.

Just because the laptop is cheap doesn't mean there are a ton of compromises. You're still getting a third-generation quad-core i7 processor, 750GB hard drive and 8GB of RAM. Other notable features include integrated memory card reader, HDMI and USB 3.0. We would have liked to have integrated Bluetooth as well but it's not a deal breaker by any means. Gamers will need to look elsewhere as this particular model doesn't come with a dedicated GPU. For the price, though, you can't really ask for more.

The deal is live now but expires on September 13. Free shipping is available.

    • Wow, Asus is going all out with these BB deals.

    • If only it had a decent video card.
As far as integrated graphics go, Intel HD 4000 is pretty darn good. It's WAY better than the Intel HD 3000 graphics we're used to seeing in the Sandy Bridge CPUs.

    • I almost bought one of these, or a similar one, on the basis of the specs but when I saw what the screen looked like at that resolution, I realized it would make my eyes go buggy. Maybe younger people than I wouldn't mind.

Being there at BB and seeing what the 1080p resolution looks like on the higher-end Zenbooks, I've come to realize I really want that. Or something close.

It's a $500 laptop with an 3rd gen i7, what do you expect? You get what you pay for, and as of now, you would have to shell out some cash if you want those things.

    • Hmm, this is tough. I have the asus i5 from the previous week but the 3rd gen processor does hold value for me. HD 4000 is great for light gaming, so I'm debating whether or not it is worth the extra $100 plus taxes.

    • 2 years ago I paid $550 for an Asus U50F - i3-330M, 4Gb RAM, 500Gb Hard, Intel HD3000

this is HOT...but as with other posters I'm wanting to shell out to get 1080p+discrete GPU

    • 2 years ago...is irrelevant, nobody cares.

This is a very hot deal for under $600, Intel HD 4000 graphics are really good if you do not have a dedicated video card. Had I not purchased my Y580 a month ago, I would have jumped onto this deal in a heartbeat.

EDIT: Pictures show BLURAY on the ODD so this would be a VERY VERY HOT DEAL.

    • how would this run say bf3 and gw2?

also can i add an SSD drive?

also saying its a $500 computer is a bit unfair as suppostedly its a "great deal" at this price so should be worth more.

Shame on some of these laptops u can't do any customizing as spending a bit more money would be cool to add in a few items u want.

Check if there's a built in dual lvds cable. If it has one it shouldn't be hard to get an FHD screen for it for about 100 bucks on ebay and do the swap yourself.

Do you have any good links about this? Both specifically regarding this laptop (how do I find out) and also about the process generally and how to find laptops with dual LVDs. [I'm being a big baby and asking before I searched.]

Hot deal too. That quad core processor will rock for p-chop, video editing etc.. As for gamers, I always find this useful when comparing gfx options: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ew,3107-7.html

    • be kind of dumb if the main reason your looking for portable is to do the gaming, to succumb to this price and end up not really getting a decent gaming experience.

If your looking for a decent gaming laptop it's going to be tough finding one that's sub-$700, but like someone else said, the Intel HD 4000 in this is decent compared to most integrated gpus.

Can anyone verify whether or not this model comes with Blu-Ray? Looking to tell a friend to pull the trigger on this when it goes on sale tomorrow.

Was hounding the BestBuy's all this week on the previous Asus i5 $469.99 deal. Which surprisingly just restocked online with 22 units. Which moments ago just sold out... was gonna pull the trigger on that. But dad didn't want it. Wanted this new $569.99 deal instead.
Will buy this instore tomorrow. Just optimistic about the mocha colour however..

    • The last 2 reviewers for this laptop were not happy with its performance. One talked about random frame rate drops and the other about random shut downs of the computer. Are these software based problems or hardware? I'm asking because I would be formatting the hard drive anyways and if it's just software issues, I can find a solution without having to return it.

Seems like a really good deal, but i just worry about possible issues with this laptop.

    • I don't think that'll have much trouble playing any video games. Should easily play all games at medium settings.

You should get pretty good perfomance on Guild Wars 2 since it can supposedly run on integrated graphics cards.

BF3 will probably run due to the processor and RAM but it will look ugly.
