Apple.ca: Refurbished 4th Gen iPod Touch on Sale

With the announcement of a new iPod Touch, Apple's refurb store has some heavy discounts on the existing 4th generation iPod touch models (navigate to them on the left). While normally pretty expensive, the discounts bring the popular Apple transit companion down to more affordable prices with the 8GB, 32GB and 64GB models being sold at $129, $179 and $229 respectively.

If you don't mind buying a refurbished iPod Touch model that released in 2010 at a discounted price, you'll definitely want to jump on this deal now as quantities are surely limited. Just a heads up, Apple refurb products are cleaned, tested and are very much in good condition. If you're still not convinced, they even carry a one year warranty.

  i'm not bashing Apple but wouldn't a 32GB Blackberry Playbook at $149 work pretty well for a lot of people considering the Ipod? I mean you get GPS built-in with the PB and more capacity. I know there are way fewer apps but that is due to change with the upcoming OS10 upgrade in Q1 2013....

- That is a great price... but beware the ipod touch 4g has become a laggy piece of crap since ios5. It ran really well on ios4 but not anymore. The problem is that it only has 256mb of ram

- Not sure what the Apple bashing is for. I had the ipod touch Gen 4 Oct 2011 model and love it. No issues with lag on iOS5 or iOS6. I guess those who hate apple will always find something to complain about.

  Performance for older iOS devices running the latest version seems to be YMMV. And people have different thresholds for what "lag" is. Some people prefer snappy performance and an upgrade (even a gimped one that Apple's been doing lately) will slow it down noticeably for them if they're running games, multitasking, etc.
  Whereas other people are just calling, texting and browsing facebook and likely not notice any speed decrease.
  
  When I upgraded my old iPod to iOS4, it was so slow I spent days researching on how to bring it back to iOS3.

  Not to sound like a troll, etc. but I would honestly/seriously trade my 32 MB Playbook for a 4G iPod or a 1G iPad. I'm kind of holding out for a BB10 upgrade to the Playbook but if someone made me an offer, I'll probably jump on it.

  Um, why not just buy a cheap GPS unit? you know something designed to stand the cold and heat of a car... This seems like a huge hassle, I mean the cost of a GPS map in the app store is like $60 (unless you plan to pirate via JB) , then you have to buy the FOB, unles you have one, but that still is cost. And not to mention that the iPod touch is a leach device, and I would not be surprised if APple dumps it for the iPAd mini line..
  
  I mean you can get Nokia phones for $30-$40 that function as a GPS unit unless there is something I am missing??? I mean iPod touch does not have a loudspeaker, kinda useless as a GPS device...

  Roqybt is the app. Cracked if you want. I use a Holux GPS from eBay. Focal price carry some as well. Work with most nav apps.

  iPod touch has a speaker. You can use it as a GPS and also use 750 000 apps. Garmin GPS devices for 40$ are rare, old and clunky and don't do other things. You can phone over wifi with your touch, use GPS apps, surf the web, etc etc.
