Apple.ca: Refurbished 3rd Generation 16GB iPad with Wi-Fi $379 and More! + 1.5% Cash Back

Apple.ca: Refurbished 3rd Generation iPad Models
This deal has expired! This deal has expired!

With the announcement of the 4th generation iPad and the new iPad Mini, the Apple refurbished store has a couple of new products available; mainly a bunch of 3rd gen iPad 3 models. While the term refurbished gets tossed around a lot, it's worth noting that the units are coming directly from Apple and are pretty much cleaned, formatted and packaged as new; aside from the generic box. Here's a look at what's on sale:

If you don't need to necessarily have the latest and greatest, now would be a good time to save up to $170 off a 3rd generation iPad. Again, despite having the refurbished tag, they're still in very good condition. The cellular versions are also available for those interested.

Don't forget to use the green links above to earn 1.5% Cash Back on your purchase.

    • Both black & white 16gb version starts at $379, not a bad price for almost current gen retina display iPad!

I would wait for when the A5 powered is out of flavour then pick up the celluar version @ 400 something, we all know how i* behave :-)

    • Now that the new A6X one is out, the refurbs just dropped $90!

If you're getting a WiFi model, then the difference will be quite marginal for a lot of uses. Not sure why you would get a 16GB iPad mini for $329 when you can get a 10" with a high res display for $379.

    • I'm thinking the smaller one will appeal to people who are looking for a smaller footprint from a weight and size standpoint. I don't think they're trying to chase the same user for the two devices. What I would be surprised with is if someone has a 9.7" version and buys the 7.9" version just for the hell of it. I'm not one to judge others on how they spend their funds as I'm sure we all have our vices (if its not Apple products, its something else, investments, cell phones, home theatre, etc.)

But overall, that is a considerably better price point for a refurb 10" tablet by Apple.

    • 3rd gen refurb would be a great deal as it basically have the same specs as the 4th gen except for a faster processor and lighting connector. Personnel I find the 3rd gen performance to be very good already and nothing uses the new connector yet.

I think that they are at least in part looking to get those users who want an iPad but couldn't until now afford one; for these users the refurbs are a much better value as an entry-level iPad. Between the A5X and the Retina display which the iPad Mini doesn't get, I do think that the refurbs are better value for most.

    • If a larger size tablet is what you want, this is a great deal compared to the iPad mini (just an extra $50 more). I can't justify getting another tablet though.

    • Probably with news of the refresh today. Biggest change is the lightning connector vs 30 pin connector of "old" new iPad.

    • Oh another ipad? So ipad 4? How many do we need geez, ipad 3 hasnt even been out for a year. Typical Apple nickel and diming their customers for all theyre worth like a bunch of leeches.

    • I'd buy one if we didn't have the iPad 3 and the dormant Playbook already

    • This is a fantastic price considering that an ipad 2 still goes for $399. These "refurbished" ipad 3's may actually be brand new. I have had an ipad 2 for a year now and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it yet I'm very tempted by this.

Indeed great price. I wonder who will buy the new ipad2 given such price. ipad3 blow the ipad2 out of water from display clarity standpoint.

How might it be brand new when it's clearly advertised as refurbished? It may appear to be new, but most refurbished items appear new with replaced/repaired components inside.

    • You mean the old new ipad (refurbished, of course) is on sale at the apple store right now since the new new ipad (new) is now on sale at the apple store?
