If you've been longing for a fancy way to tell the time, you'll want to head over to the Apple Refurbished Store, because they've recently added some new models of Series 1 Apple Watches!

The refurbished models start at just $299.00, compared to brand new retail models which start at $359.00. All products undergo a rigorous refurbishment process and receive new cables and accessories. To reassure you that you are getting a completely functional product, Apple Watch devices that require replacement parts are not included in the Apple Certified Refurbished Program, so you get a product that is like new. In fact, the main difference between new and refurbished Apple products is that refurbished products ship in a plain box as opposed to standard retail packaging.

We've listed a few of the refurbished models below to help give you an idea of what's available (note that the regular price is the retail cost of a brand new product).

All refurbished products are backed by a 14-day return policy and one-year product warranty. Stock is limited and only available while supplies last, so get yours before they're gone! Apple.ca offers free shipping on all orders.

If you're looking for more offers on other refurbished Apple products, be sure to check out our roundup of refurbished iPads, Macbooks, and more for up to 30% off!

    • The box isn't a charger. It's just a fancy box.

My mistake. I was thinking of the edition box; I'll fix that.

Ah, I didn't know the Edition version came with a special box. I just looked it up, wow.. leather.. I guess for $10k, it better come with something nicer than a useless oversized plastic box.

IMO, they're nice smartwatches. They're just too expensive for what they are. I've owned a bunch of Android Wear watches, and a couple Apple Watches. If you have an iPhone, the Apple Watch is an overall better functioning device. Android Wear has some bugs that can get pretty annoying after a while.

1st gen 42mm stainless steel Apple Watches can be bought on eBay for $250-300, which seems like a better deal to me.

    • I may bite on a Series 2 when and if the 42mm aluminum appears.
Reg price is $529 so maybe $460 or so as a refurb unit.

Still a bit more than I'd like to spend, but most comparative Garmin Forerunners are also about $400 but without music capabilities or integration/apps.

If you are close to the border this is a pretty good deal:

Heads up for people considering this - 2015 (Series "0") model. Much slower processor and shorter battery life. Unless you are really set on the stainless steel at that price, I would suggest a Series 1/2 in aluminum for the same/cheaper.

It's definitely a decent deal for US citizens, but paying 30% more hurts - even if it comes with a nice band and sapphire screen.

I will point out while the '0' is definitely slower (I've had one since launch), it's battery life it still quite good and equal of the S1 and S2.

While watchOS3 has breathed new life into the original Apple Watch, if I was in the market today, I'd definitely go for a series 1 over a 0, even at an extra few bucks. And the 2 is worthwhile for serious runners or swimmers.
