Amazon.ca has a good video game deal for fighting game fans this week. We're talking about some very good pricing on Hori fighting sticks -- $29.99 for the Playstation 3 Fighting Stick 3 and $39.99 for the Xbox 360 Fighting Stick EX 2.

Having an arcade style joystick can really increase the fun factor of fighting games. While there are more robust options with arcade authentic parts available, those will usually cost you anywhere from two to four times as much as these sticks. For people who play fighting games casually, these are a great buy.

      The PS3 one is PC compatible (according to this review and this link). I'm sure you can google up something for the EX2 as well.

      The problem with buying cheap sticks is that it will be very difficult to pull off moves. It'll get aggravating and soon you will wonder what the fuss is with arcade sticks and completely swear them off. Don't let this happen to you! Save your money and buy a MadCatz arcade stick or get a Hori Real Arcade Pro.

      It is true. My friend has this stick, sometimes the joystick will get stuck in a position mid match and you have to shake it loose. Enjoy that.

      I recommend people find something to tack on with it.

      I'm still debating because the price is good and I'm just looking for something to use over my controller (don't want to kill the controller).

    • I have the Soul Caliber version of this stick, bought it for SFIV when it came out. I really enjoy it, I can pull off moves with ease. $40 is a great price.

      they are not 'garbage'.

      To those guys they are because they probably play with custom or modded sticks which go for upwards of 150 and some ridiculous amounts.

      In comparison to those, they are garbage because those ones are truly arcade sticks.

      I think this is best for those who play casually and just want to use a decent stick for a low price. Basically, if your playing a fighting game the majority of the time, you don't want this, but if your like me and play a fighitng game for maybe 1hr or 2 per month, then you may want to pick it up or if you just play with friends for fun.

    • I bought this stick from amazon when sf4 first came out. i'm a hardcore arcade street fighter player and the stick is definitely not garbage like some say. i even use the stick for 3rd strike on the pc and i play just as good. the stick is very similar to the japanese arcade style sticks though the build quality is nothing close the arcade version. for $30 this is definitely a good deal. try not to smash and rotate the stick in a hardcore angry gamer manner because it is quite delicate.

    • I bought this and the stick is really cheaply made. The button get stuck occasionally and the stick doesn't seem to register well (push up-right but registered as up). It's impossible to pull off faster combos as it lacks precision so you don't quite know whether pushing it 3 times rapidly would result in 3 hits.

      If you are gonna bother buying a fighting stick should really invest in a good quality one, and stay away from this one.

    • my friend has it and honestly it ain't bad. we aren't going to go pro, and it ain't some crap stick like the SE version where the joystick fails after 2 months of usage. if u really want to make it better, go order parts form arcadeshock.com and get a new set of sanwa buttons or stick and just mod it yourself. it ain't hard, time to learn to do some handiwork in yo life boys.

      ordered one myself. going to play with it and then if need, i'll change the parts. but going from general reviews, probalby won't need to anytime soon

      Wireless is generally worse for gaming peripherals due to response time. They are not wireless.

      MadCatz SE is much better than this piece of garbage.

      Guys I don't know where this idea came from that you HAVE to play fighting games on a stick. You don't need a stick to be good at fighting games. One of the best players I know in Toronto plays on a controller. I play on controller and I bet I could go toe to toe with most players, arcade stick or not. Arcade sticks aren't some magic game-genie like device that make you better at street fighter.

      If you are a casual gamer playing 1-2 hrs a month like that dude said, definitely do not waste your money on this stick and just use a sixaxis or dualshock3 controller. There is no reason anybody should be buying this stick. If your "casual" enough to be using something this crappy then you are better off just playing with a controller. If you're thinking of stepping up your game, this excuse of a stick will only hinder you from improving.
